    I have a few mods
    so ive been surfin the interwebs on facebook and saw a taco with 295/70/17s on it....I think the next set of tires I get are going to be 295/75/16s....dont know if trail grapplers or go with the terra grapplers again. A buddy of mine suggested keeping my stock rims and just mounting those tires on it and swap back and forth for meets, which I dont know why I never thought of that

    I just had a brief talk with a custom fab shop about doing an SAS on my truck. I was given a rough estimate of $750 if i provide all the parts. that is way cheaper then i ever thought it would be. looks like it time for me to start looking for parts :]

    well after parts i would easily be in the 4-5k but spread that out over a year or two and its not to bad. plus sell all my IFS shit that i have to keep buying and i could prob get this done fairly cheap

    So what front axle were you thinking? TG SAS complete kit? D44 out of a Cherokee? 9"? or you gonna go big and put a D60 under it?

    i want to do a D60 so i can put 4Ds under it, but i dont like any of the drivers side drop D60 axles so im planning on going with a toyota mini axle or d44 out of a waggy.

    Yea it's not to bad about the same for me 2 hrs or so, hope I don't have to change it again. Think I went with the advanced auto one just cuz the warranty. Been about 8 months and looks to be holding up fine, then again haven't wheeled much with new one.

    A Toy axle would be sweet. I've seen them hold up to 44s without even flinching...in the mud anyway. Can you get them with a drivers side drop? Or at least an aftermarket housing with the pumpkin on the drivers side? I haven't researched it enough to know because it's out of my financial ability unless I win the lotto or something. :eek:

    D44s seemed pretty reliable with 40s in my experience, although, again, it was in the mud, not on the rocks. They didn't start snapping like dry twigs until you put 44s on them. But if it turned out to be an issue, you could always go all in and get a set of chrome-moly axles. That'd give you a little better endurance.

    i thought toy axles were drivers side drop. maybe im wrong. but what ever i do it will have a D side drop just to keep cost and modifications to a min. and im not even sure i would want to go over 37s anyway. gotta stay somewhat low.

    So if you don't want to get a custom axle housing or change your drop side, you're stuck with Heep or Ford parts--especially if you wanna go full-width.

    Edit: Geez, I remember back in the day you could get a D44 front axle all day for $150. Same for a D60 rear. Sheesh.
