Does anybody know how to bypass the clutch start switch

 

You should be able
To just jump the wire or ground it and
That should do it.

 

i'm prob slow, but isn't the switch there to allow you to bypass the clutch, so if you don't want to, don't switch it on?

 

That's for 4x4 trucks only and a different switch I'm talking about the one under my dash that my clutch presses down on

 

so what's the purpose of your switch?

 

im guessing your regretting having a manual with your injuries right now?

 

It won't let the truck start with out the clutch being pushed down

 

Yeah I tried driving it last week I got down to the end of my drive way and had turn around and park it because I was in to much pain so I'm stuck either having people drive me around or borrow my dads truck when he's not using it

 

Can you rpm match on those trannys? That way you only use the clutch to start and get out of 1st

 

Yeah I'm able to but I don't wanna risk messing up my synchro's

 

Some people ive talked to only rpm match. But I dont blame ya, mine doesnt always match up going into 3rd or 4th, and with all the shifting issues ive heard about with the 6spd I wouldnt do it either

 

I've got a 4 cylinder so it's only a 5 speed and I've done it before just to see if would work Allright also the way I do it is the same as if you were driving a semi

 

I am able to clutchless shift around 3100-3200 rpm no problems and no grinding sounds. I don't know about from a dead start though.

Not sure about the Tacoma and my truck is auto so can't check. You might be able to either put a strong tywrap around it to hold it compressed or remove it from the mount and tywrap it. Or remove the switch and jumper the wires. (Maybe a paperclip and black tape until you heal up)

My old 90 Nissan King Cab had the same feature. Not bad, but kind of a pain sometimes.
