btw, i had called them, to ask about their brake lines, and the guy who I spoke to was the one that sent out my order, I did ask him if a buddy wanted a set could I get another one for that price, he said probably, they were just trying to get rid of them because not many 2wd's where they were, Colorado....

Well, I somehow managed to fix my braking problem...for now. Dunno what did it.

I popped the drums off and cleaned all the mud and dust off the various mechanisms. I checked to make sure the self-adjusters were working, and then I put the drums back on and adjusted the brakes.

From there, I began re-rigging the E-brake. Something weird was going on there. When I first got the truck, the handle would come out excessively far, IMHO, so I got under there and adjusted the forward end of the cable to shorten the pull. However, I decided it wasn't coming out far enough, so while I was re-rigging the cable, I tried to adjust that now that I know how far out it's supposed to come. Oddly, I couldn't get it to move much. If I took the cable loose at the front, the handle would come out a lot further. If I took the the cables loose at the wheels, the handle would come out a lot further, but with everything hooked up, and the nut almost all the way backed off on the front of the cable, it was still extremely tight, only giving me about 6-8 clicks. Which was bizarre because nothing else had been messed with since I screwed with it in the first place. Scratching my head, I decided I needed to start with the wheel lever and work my way forward.

I started by loosening the stop bolt and jam nut on the lever. Then, per the instructions, I pulled the lever out until all the slack was taken off the cables and bell cranks inside the drum. Then I turned the stop bolt in until it was touching the backing plate, backing it off slightly and tightening down the jam nut. I immediately noticed a difference when turning the drum. The shoes were no longer scraping and needed to be readjusted. Also, I was now getting 12 clicks on the handle.

Happy with that, I secured everything and decided to see if I could tweak the LSPV linkage to make it read a little higher. The bottom adjuster arm was tilted quite a bit outboard so I figured if I bent the link arm a bit more than it was, it would make the mechanism read a little higher. Then I put the wheels back on (effing up one of my center caps in the process, so I had to paint the axle flanges green before I installed the wheels).

Then i took it for a test drive. I'm happy to say, the rear brakes are indeed working now. Don't have to step on the pedal as hard and the rear tires will howl a little under hard braking just like the fronts now. Also, the E-brake seems to be grabbing a lot tighter when set. It's hard to get the truck to move now with the E-brake set where as before, it might as well have not even been engaged for all the difference it made.
