    Lee I had a set of those Kuhmos on my 06 and they were awesome.

    So far I've run, Kuhmo MT, KM2, Nitto Trail, 2 sets of Hankook MT, terra's, M/T MTZ and Toyo Mt's. My favorite 3 so far would be:
    1. Nitto trails
    2. KM2
    3.Hankook

    All 3 of them would clean like a sombitch, ride great on the road, weren't too heavy, didn't wander, last a while mileage wise. The next set will be the Mtr kevlars and I will let y'all know how they perform.

    Rgr that. I had a set of 305/70/16 Kumhos on my F250 (had about 200 miles or so on them when I sold the truck). They replaced a set of 33x12.50R16 Trxus radials that finally succumbed to rot after 9 years. Honestly, I liked the Trxus tires better. They rode smoother. But they were too expensive when it came time to replace them.

    Edit: I'm not a fan of BFGs. Every set I've ever had dry rotted within 3 years.

    The km1's did dry rot come to think of it the km2's didnt though.

    So in looking up the kumhos and the MTs that Mike mentioned, they both say minimum wheel width of 8.5". My wheels are 8.0" so they are out.

    don't worry about the widths too much. my tires claim the same 8.5 minimum wheel width, and i'm on stock sports which are what, 7.5 inches wide? no issues.

    Hmmmmm. Good to know, cause if those kumhos get good reviews, they are about $50 cheaper then the others. But when it comes down to it, I only have to pay for three tires so the nittos maybe a better deal. And knowing that, i could go up to the 35x12.5 nittos for a few dollars less than the 315's.

    What's a half inch? Back in the day, nobody worried about minimum wheel width as long as you could get the beads to seat. :D The 33x12.50s on my '83 in my avatar pic were on 15x12" wheels and they did great. (Of course, I might have had problems with popping beads if I ever ran them aired down for crawling, but I wasn't into that at the time.) It was common to run 44x18.50s on 15x12 wheels, although the cool kids were running 44s on 15x14 Barts. I also ran a set of 35x12.50s on 15x7 inch factory wheels on my '90 Bronco without any issues and I'm currently running 33x13.50s on an 8 inch wide wheel.

    Personally, I take that minimum wheel width as more of a "best performance" recommendation. A half inch probably won't make a noticeable difference, but if it makes you feel better to religiously follow the recommendations, that's cool too. :cool:

    Before i forget, i want to thank everyone for their help with this today. In my head i figured the 1/2" wouldn't matter, but for some reason i let it bother me. And with all the other info i have a general idea of which direction i will be going, just have to finish saving up for that to happen. Plus i still have a little life left in these treadwrights to finish off.
