    So I'll have to hook up the air compressor and find a quick release valve, 120 pounds of boost here I come :eek: It'll be like nitrous.

    and if you put resistance on the blower tube you'll build up a tad bit of pressure.

    120 psi for .2 seconds, across 240 cubic iches....hmmm...it might clean the dirt of the top of your piston I suppose.

    and it will make a chsshh sound so I'll be fast n furious dog

    The way my blower is designed it's basically a super unrefined turbo. It's not just a fan pushing air.

    You can't produce above atmospheric pressure period, no matter what your hood scoop looks like.

    Colin, by making your scoop functional the only thing it will do will provide the motor with cooler, denser air. Which will give you a minute gain in efficiency.

    You would have to connect it to your exhaust/backwards in order it for it to be a turbo.

    ok jason, now i see what you're talking about. i've taken more physics classes than i care to admit, so i know the venturi effect well. however, the pressure drop that is shown by the venturi effect is based on free flowing of the fluid on both ends. essentiall, that however much volume of a given fluid flows out of the tube, has infinate room to go. having a cylinder chamber on the end changes it though, since air that goes in cannot take up the space it needs to remain at the low pressure. now without forced induction, we aren't saying you build up a positive pressure in the chamber before cumbustion, it is just less of a negative pressure (closer to, but not equal to zero)

    the more i think about it, you're right, you will not overcome standard pressure. however, a scoop will be able to get closer to it.

    You're engine just takes the denser air and creates a better mixture, returning a more efficient combustion without having to fuel anymore than normal. Better burn and better economy.

    yes, to be a true turbo.

    I figured it was something you could relate to. That's exactly what I'm talking about. So without forced induction in any way, shape, or form it is impossible to get to exactly 0 atm(but I guess thinking about it it's technically 1 atm and I've been using the term wrong, I just meant to shorten it) but it's close enough.

    Phew, now that we got that out of the way.

    Tim, Do you think it's feasible to try to find the computer drawing of the needed toner ring and bring it to a machine shop or would they charge an arm and a leg? I've never dealt with a machine shop before.

    Well, the guy I got the coilovers from is doing a 01-03 dana 60 with ford radius arms and he said you can just bore them out to accept nissans and account for tire size/tone ring teeth and the speedo should be good to go. brb, cig.

    correct, but denser air (assuming a standard temperature across the board) will be at a higher pressure.

    if you look at the ideal gass law: pv=rt
    p=pressure
    v=volume
    r=gas constant (ignore this)
    t=temperature

    take a given mas of air at one atmosphere and 70 degrees inside a bottle, if you open that bottle at sea level on a 70 degree day, air will neither enter or escape the bottle.

    however, if you take a larger mas of air (denser) in that same bottle, at sea level, on a 70 degree day, and open it, air will escape. it will do this to equalize the pressure with the outside air.
