Sounds like an oil leak getting onto the exhaust. Knowing the bit i know about Nissan, look at the oil filter housing. There is an o-ring that seals it that goes bad all the tine. Check that and possibly the valve cover gaskets too. That's where i would start.

I worked for Infiniti before making the switch to Toyota years ago. To this day i still get almost all of the Nissan's or Nissan questions that come to the shop.

Never thought it coukd be an oil leak, but very possible. There is a few drops of oil under the pass side every once in a while.

I was considering the board thing, or I might try the ratchet strap method...or possibly both. Maybe build a cradle for the unit to sit in and get strapped down to with the jack under it.

It probably won't be for a while yet. If the guy shows up with the cash tomorrow, I can probably get it ordered (assuming Marlin has them in stock, which they appeared to the last time I looked a couple weeks ago), but unless I toast the old one at Hardrock next Saturday, I probably won't be in a huge rush to get it knocked out. Have to play it by ear for now, but I should be able to firm up a date once I have the parts in my hot little hands.

Hopefully Mike will have the Spruce Goose back by then.

 

Spent the day out in the highlands yesterday

 

Hopefully I'll have it back today. They are buffing it & detailing it right now but the traction control light it on & they have to take it to the dealer. He says they just need to reset it, let's hope that's all they need to do & luckily they're open today. The lights been on since I got hit.

Hmmm guessing a busted wheel speed sensor on the rear axle.

they're not going anywhere for some reason, my buddy that built some of the crawlers in the video I posted is gonna come over with his welder and weld everything up including some shock towers inside the frame. it's gonna be sweet
