I don't think any of the regulars in here are but the two that I know of off the top of my head is Brunes(at least used to be, he hasn't had his location up for a while so I'm not sure if he moved or not.) and Jason but I can't think of his username, probably something to do with Gators.

I think there is a thread for the panhandlers if you want to see who's in your neck of the woods.

i think you lost me. sounds like the point of it would be to have constant boost, with no lag ?

A smaller turbo feeding a larger second turbo to spool it faster. Eliminating lag and being to build more powering with less psi. As psi is actually a measurment of restriction.

gotcha. so if you ran two of the same size it would put too much back pressure on the exhaust?

it would be pointless because you wouldnt build boost fast thats why they do a smaller then larger turbo

just ordered yellow lamin-x for my fogs :) the light output with the HIDs is great, but i'm trying to get the light to cut through bad weather a little better. it snowed last nihgt when i was driving home. the fogs did great, but they are just a bit too white, which washes things out a little in the snow. this should do the trick

If you did two of the same size it would just be your traditional twin turbo set up. Which is like the middle....1 small/med, quick sppol, minimal lag, good power into the midrange, 1 large, slower spool in the lower rpms, lag, huge power at high rpm. 2 small/med quick spool, no lag, good power into the midrange and good power into higher rpm. Compound is no lag, power across the entire range.

ok, makes sense now. so if you had two big turbos, you'd have a shit ton of lag, but huge power at high rpm?

    Ryan,

Since you are in the mechanical circle, do you know of any welding courses around here? All I can find are places downtown and st. augustine. It seems that they also only offer full schedules to get the certifications/degrees. All I'm looking for is a basic class.

yeah, i remember your post a while ago about them raising their price.

did you look at any other companies?
    I've been looking a the smittybuilt xrc8 comp http://www.quadratec.com/products/92122_1002_07.htm
that guy i told you about who's our age up here with the lawn business is running one. he loves it. i didn't actually know about thw superwinch 9000 series until i saw it on your truck. the $200 difference really isn't that much in the grand scheme of things, i'm just curious what the extra money gets you. it's almost worth it for the plue line :D

I was thinking about getting a steel cable winch and then buying a synthetic line for it, that way i will have a spare cable in case the line ever breaks on the trail. but....then i heard that the winches themselves are made differently. the synthitic line winches have the brake on th outside of the spool, because it gets so hot sometimes that it could melt the synthetic.

I did my research and found the general consensus to be that Warn and Superwinch were pretty much the top dogs. A few big things that attracted me to the superwinch are synthetic line, external brake(seems you are already familiar with the benefits), everything is sealed, and integrated solenoid that I knew would fit within my bumper and grill. I don't believe all winches that come with synthetic line have the brakes on the outside. With synthetic line if it breaks there is some sort of knot you can tie and continue to use it safely.

With that said, I'm sure both will be more than enough for either of our applications.

yeah, the smittybuilt has the external brake as well on the comp (synthetic) version as well.
is the superwinch a tight fit in your bumper? i think the all pro has slightly less room, so i'm wondering if it will actually fit. i need to go out and take measurements when it's not 16 degrees out.

i've seen writeups on how to repair the synthetic rope. seen kets as well that come with the propper synthetic thread and needle.....i'm just not sure i trust myself enough to get it right.
