Any of you guys know where the A/C evaporator is actually located and how best to get to it? I need to spray mine with the foam A/C cleaner to kill the bacteria or mold that is on it cause my a/c smells horrible. I should have the cleaner here tomorrow and I want to get it all over the evaporator directly. Spraying lysol and all the other tricks I have read about didn't dent the @$$ smell in my 2012 truck.
(PS no my drain hose is not clogged)

 

When using the evap foaming cleaner just spray it right into the evap drain on the right side of the truck. But do it in 2-3 steps. Don't put it all in at once.

You mean that drain hose under the passenger side floormat? Like spray it into it? I think I am confused Where that evap drain is except for that hose. I would think it needed to cover the evaporator better.

I can confirm that skunks have no smell. We passed a dead one and smelled the mcdonalds and did not smell the skunk at all! In TN you can smell them a mile before you even see them in the road.

 

Yes, spray it into that hose from under the truck or in the engine bay. The foam is designed to go in and expand. There is no easier way to get to the evap without ripping out the dash and removing the box. I have used that stuff for years and it works just fine, though you wont likely get rid of all the odor. Toyota has had evap odor issues for a few years now.

Geeze. Will this stinks, literally. I'll give it a try then. Where is that evaporator located anyway? After I pulled the glove box out yesterday and poked around I didn't see where it was but had read to take the blower mother out to clean it (which didn't make sense in this link)

See if this helps. Not to sound rude, but if you needed help locating and removing the blower, don't even think about touching tthe evaporator.

Bahahah no I didn't need help I just saw that link on another one of those "my A/C stinks" threads. I just didn't know where exactly the evap was located and why they would need to remove the blower to get to it. Thanks for the pic man that helps. I have been trying to find a break down pic like that all over the internet. I am just one of those guys who likes to see the bigger picture of things before I decide to attempt on taking on an issue. I actually didn't think the evap was that big. (honestly looks like you could almost spray the foam with the tube that comes with it down the front window defroster, from the pic anyway)
