pretty sure in the real world, if you have job and they need you to come in, and you don't, after a few of those, you won't need to come in ever again

i'm just being a wise-ass, all depends on the work situation

 

yeah, that happens to me during busy time, working weekends, no extra pay=Salary

love that March bonus though...more than makes up for it

 

I bet, I did the math on salary vs hourly in my field and hourly definitely out numbers salary. I would have to get at least a 7-8k bonus to add up to paid overtime

 

But that doesn't get you to citrus

 

I'm salary get paid off 40 hours but work 50. I'm out early if I can.

 

Well....it's a bit depressing since I only make about $23k a year and i work next to GS12s that do the EXACT same thing I do and they are making 6 times more than what I do at $120k a year

 

Also got to add in Benefits of salary, very important. I get a lot of good benefits that takes my "salary" way higher than if I were hourly and paid more with no or little benefits. I would need to make half my salary on top of what I make already just to cover my benefits if I were hourly with little to no benefits.

 

I made more than that cooking at a restaurant in college part time in 04....
Hope you make $120K a year one day...hell I would love that too!

 

but you don't pay for housing do you Chris? Hell that right there is another $15K/year on your pay

That's E4 pay for ya hahaha. That's the nature of air traffic control lol, at least I have the option to make that money when I get out. But I'd love for a civilian spot to open up at eglin, I'd rather continue working here than work at a regular airport (fighters are cooler) and make the money here.

Ya I don't, I get $1044 for housing and I don't see any of it since corvias just uses whatever I have and prorates it and that's my rent on the house. It is nice, I can't complain about that part

 

hell yea I used to love the BAH (housing) and BAS (food). I would live in an apartment that was $800/ month and get a housing allowance of $1300/month. Hell when I moved backed to Tampa to work at the recruiting office, I lived at my dad's and pocketed %100 of my housing allowance

 

yea benefits are the same when going to salary in this field. Only benefit I care about really is 401k anyways, medical and dental is covered for me

 

That's cheating haha, I wish I could do that lol and make some extra money

honestly if I were single and 5-10 years younger I would purchase me a travel trailer and live out of it. A nice one and make the $500 payments on it vs rent. Plus I could park it in different spots every night if I choose to lol. I feel like watching the sunrise at the beach, hell I am staying at the beach tonight.
