Sounds like a good plan, lotta work but good plan. Yep it would have to be the '82 since the Vin is attached to the cab. You could always splice the 2 together & make an 80's version of a double cab. Haha

 

well.....I dont think he has the title for that cab...sooooooooooooooo, the plan is to just swap the ID Plates so I can have a title for the cab to keep it on the road. But of course, this is all ideas right now and nothing is set in stone

without the tailgate from the back of the bed closest to the cab (not the inside of the bed, the closest point to the cab) to the edge of the bed where the tailgate would stand vertical - about 63"

and with the tailgate on and up, about 62" and about 65 1/2" if you want to count the curve of the tailgate
