Still based on 1st Gens but I think it will still work for a 2nd Gen with either some modifications or they might be able to build it for a 2nd Gen. Wouldn't hurt to ask.

What's wrong with that? One of the most badass 2nd gen builds I've seen has the upper link on the driver's side.

Not as yet, John. Don't have my airsoft beads yet. Should happen within the next couple of weeks or so though.

Where are you looking? Most of them say the passenger side on 2nd gens at least because the amount of space. No driveshaft to work around plus exhaust. The passenger side has exhaust to work around. Really it doesn’t matter but preference.

Shock towers will get in the way also. Have to cut a notch out of the tower.

That link is for Toyota axles. Won’t work for a Dana 60

If your interested just let me know, and I will hold it until your ready. I am not in any hurry to sell it. Be a few weeks before I can do anything anyway. Currently I am out of state chasing whitetails with a flintlock, haven't even seen 20 deg temps since before Christmas. IMG_0265.jpg

My home state of PA. Been a good year so far I got a small doe the first day about 3hrs in the woods, and my brother got a 7 point Friday. 2 shots and 2 deer not bad for a couple of old guys using pre 1860's technology

Not so. The link was to the main 3 link SAS page. It has kits for both Toyota axles and D60s listed.

Also @Taco No Baka the superduty axle does not have as much room on the driver tube for brackets. I spent a solid 8 hours cleaning up that side to get tube to be able to put a bracket on it.

That build he has a diamond axle. A lot easier to weld to the diff center then a d60 You can really go either way but if you read a lot in the sas bs thread the majority prefer the passenger side. I’m not saying it can’t be done on the driver but it’s easier to do the passenger side.

2nd Gen problems. :D Anyway, the 4WU kit is made with a passenger side upper link bracket (Probably because it was designed with the 4th and 5th Gen HiLux and 1st and 2nd Gen T4R with passenger side drop t-cases in mind), so it should be right up your ally. The only issue is really how much modification the brackets would need to work. At what point do you decide that it's simpler to just make your own brackets? It's actually kinda surprising that they don't have 2nd Gen specific kits by now. 2nd Gens have been around for about 12 or 13 years now so there must be enough of them that are paid off and ragged out enough to start some serious resale-effecting modifications.

Personally, being a 1st Gen Tacoma, I'd rather have the upper link on the driver's side. There's more space on that side and with it on the passenger side like Todd has it, in addition to having to clearance the exhaust, I'd be worried that it'd make the starter a PITA to remove...and with how often I have to remove my starter, that's an important consideration to me, haha. I don't see the driveshaft being that much of an issue since it moves with the link and I doubt you'd be able to stuff the driver's side tire high enough to have any conflict with the UL frame mount. But if you say a passenger side upper link is easier for a 2nd Gen, then I'll take your word for it.

Yesterday, I ran power to the bed for a couple of projects. First, I installed a set of lights for the bed. Instead of going under the rail, I mounted them to the bedrack.

Next, I added a power bank in the bed, including switched USB outlets & voltmeter and a constant on 12v plug. You can see the push button switch for the bed lights in the upper right below.

After, I loaded up the truck and went camping up in Daytona. I was supposed to do 2 nights, but a 70% chance for rain and temp projections in the 40's made me rethink that.

Here are some pics from the campsite, as well as a few from around Tiger Bay State Forest and Tomoka WMA.

This was on a portion of the old Pershing Highway, a brick road built in 1917 to connect DeLand to Daytona Beach.

On one of the trails out in Tomoka WMA. I got some exploring in, but not as much as I would have liked. There were a lot of hunters out there and I made sure to do everything I could to not disturb their hunts.

A couple of twisted trees. Their trunks are almost parallel. Very strange.
