Haha, it's only been on there a couple days or so, doubt he'd notice that yet.

 

Lee's right since today is the first day I drove it farther than around the neighborhood. I did notice it picks up alittle faster on the low end and I can go about 75 doing 2k - 2.3k rpms which is already way better. It feels really wierd because of the soa and stiffer springs as well as my rear tires being out further than my front rn.

I'd honestly consider it if I could afford to have it professionally done, but those acoustic panels glued to the floor don't look like they'd be any fun at all to get up, so I'm not messing with it. I might get some rear floor mats to cover the ugly ass things up and try to learn to live with no carpet though.

 

What about outdoor carpet?

All weather floor mats bug me. The truck had the Toyota versions when I got it and they drove me nuts. And I'd still have to get the acoustic panels up to roll on the bedliner. The passenger rear floor looks like someone dumped half a tube of sealant on it before they stuck the carpet down. It's ugly as hell and probably hell to get off too.

Like I said, if I could afford to have Linex or someone like that do it, I'd seriously consider it. Likewise, I remember my YJ had carpet that was all Velcro'd down and it was easily removed without disassembling anything in the interior. In fact, I rarely ever had it in the Jeep. If I could afford that, I might challenge some Auto Interior shop to make me a set of carpets like that I could take in and out with out taking anything apart. Maybe with some closed cell foam backing for a little cushion and sound deadening.

 

It really isn’t all that bad

 

You can get a gallon of bedliner for relatively inexpensive depending upon the brand. There is also a vinyl floor liner option for the 2nd gens and I believe for the first gen also.If my memory serves me correct it was somewhere around $500. If I had $500 to spend I would op for a different mod.

 

But you only had to do half the space I would, haha.

 

Okay, I'll spring for the Duplicolor good stuff. You guys come over and scrape up that sealant and those acoustic panels, sand the floor, clean it with acetone and a tack cloth, and roll it out for me and I'll supply the pizza (at lunch time) and the beer (after the work is done). I'll even take the seats, kick panels, door sills, and console back out for ya. Of course, I'll be kicked back drinking beer while all this is happening.

 

Ok but in exchange will you replace my cv when it breaks considering you have way more experienced than me in that field.

 

I have way more experience at FAILING to get the CV separated from the 2nd Gen hub in that field, haha. I've never successfully managed it, but I did hear about a method I haven't tried before that seems to work.
