haha. Are you going with 285? I assume that's why you are wanting to sell the mystery rims.

Yea get them while they're hot...I've got two of them. However, you might find out about how they affect the 1st gens. I'm not so familiar with it but I think it something to do with the ABS. I think that one dude Cmack actually ended up sending his back to get reworked. Shoot him a pm to get better details.

I think you should do 285's but think 265's would look fine.

I was hoping you would chime in. I have a couple concerns with the 285's though. How bad was your braking performance affected? I don't have brakes on either of my trailers so that worries me to an extent

Also did you have any rub on the body mount? Do you think I would have any with stock rims and aftermarket uca? I'm wondering if the alignment guy would be able to push it enough forward to keep me away from the mount.

I'm gaining interest in the 285 because I love the thought of a relatively big tire on a small lift.

I had drilled and slotted rotors and some aftermarket pads, with the lift and tires pulling over 6000 lbs I did fine...Just no torque, lol.

No rubbing at all but remember, my lift was close to 4".

I'm not sure if you're wheels have the same backspacing as the regular tacos. You may have to run spacers but UCA's will probably help. I doubt you will actually need them though. Just lift like 2" and we'll chop the body mount.

I think my wheels have the same backspacing as the normal rims. I thought spacers caused more rubbing on the body mount and were installed to clear the uca?

If I have to get the body mount chopped that's fine. I'm not too worried.

Thanks for the help. I did a ton of research it's just much more convincing hearing it from you if that makes sense.

If you do a lift the wider part of the tire moves closer to the stock UCA. With a different offset wheel or stock wheel+spacer you clear the UCA. Not too much or it will rub the cab mount when stuffing the tire.

Glad I can help, at least someone likes my advice. Lol.

Go with 285's Jason, you won't regret it. :D

What lift/tires/wheels are you going with? (Sorry, don't feel like skimming through this thread to find out )
