Florida B.S. Thread

I wouldn't say its dead on the weekends but you have to remember its a commuting school and the majority of the students live off campus. So the weekends can be kinda slow. And the buggy thing is sweet, we have one sitting inside the engineering building. As for crime problems, I don't really live near campus so I cant comment on it but I haven't heard of any problems. For professors, I have only been here for upper level classes and most of my professors seem to sincerely want to help. I think it might be a little different in the freshman and sophomore classes. For party's, there are a lot of them. But since the town is not built around the school like UF is, there is always something else to do. I'm not a big fan of parties and I always find something to do. I know that was a big ramble so let me know if I missed anything or you want more info.

 

Thanks for all the help. The chemistry class may be a weed out class so it's tough on purpose, not that I agree with it.

The season passes is a great idea. I thought about that but other than the parks I'm not too fond of the Orlando area so I'm wondering if there's a way to avoid it and still keep busy. For all I know, I may not have much time on the weekends with homework and projects anyways so it could be a moot point.

 

oh I thought it was less commuter than say usf. I saw the buggy in the engineering building. It had a flat tire and some fluid around it uh oh. I like the fact that it's not a big college town surrounding the area. Good to know that you can stay busy avoiding the parties.

 

Are you going to take classes there?

 

well hopefully I get accepted for the summer semester. If not I guess I'll be at valencia until I can sneak in.

 

I don't have much experience with usf so I cant compare. But some people live on campus but the majority of the students live in apartments and such within 5 miles from campus. And parking is pretty easy so most students drive to class and hang out at home during the weekends.

 

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with truckcandy.com and they said Daystar is making my AALs right now and it should be shipped next week. Whoo hoo!

 

Valencia East campus has the best VA office I have ever dealt with.

@ Jason I took courses at VCC for about 2 yrs and lived about 8 miles from the VCC campus near main campus UCF. Had to drive 20 mins to get anywhere and I couldn't stand the pretenious "locals." I hate Orlando with a passion now. Just my $.02. I'm driving down March 1st and 2nd to take my midterm and CPT if you want to go check out the UCF campus w a friend of mine who's a student there.

Where the hell can I find Plasti-dip? I want to do my rims this wkend (hopefully.)

 

Lowes has Plasti-dip and so does Northern Tool

 

Yeah, I found it at the Ace Hardware down the street from my work. $18 for 2 cans. :/ I hope that's enough to do all 4 wheels and my badges. I bought the last 2 cans of flat black on the shelf. I'm planning on taking over my parents' driveway this weekend and using all my Dad's jack stands. I don't see a point in paying for a lift at NAS if I'm going to have to wait on paint to dry. Seems like a waste of money.

My next project after the rims and badges is to paint my tonneau. IDK how that's going to work out. I might respray some of the blacked out pieces inside my cab first just so I can get used to the paint sprayer, process, etc.

 

Why don't you paint or bedline your wheels instead of the plasti-dip?

 

X2 satin black works great and touches up easy.....

 

I've heard/read alot about the rattle can jobs chipping quite bad and my research lead me to think plasti-dip was the better option for my rims and badges. Have you used the satin black on your rims before? Did you use Krylon? I haven't used the paint yet so I can always take it back and save some money.

 

i would just use bed liner. I did mine with just normal rustoleum and they lasted about 2 years with out starting to chip. I need to repaint them now but when i do i will go with the same stuff i did my bumpers with.

 

I did my Taco with satin black but did the Titan with rustoleum bedliner and it holds up great. You could do 2-3 coats on your wheels with two cans. It's very forgiving, you won't see runs or spots. It is very durable.

 

The bands were awesome and I got hell yeah drummers drum stick. Along with several picks

yeah, I'm not too fond of the Orlando area either but Will said it can be avoided. I went last Sunday and will probably go back next Thursday but thanks very much for the offer.
