    ^ lol nice I may try that thinkin about gettin my exhaust re-routed so I can move that crossmember up, or whatever its called. Are the mud flaps held on by tourqe bits or what?

    i highly recomend rerouting the exhaust. it's nice not having your exhaust being the lowest point of the truck. bud flaps are a couple 10mm bolts, and a couple plastic clips if i remember correctly.

    crossmember is the part of the frame that links both sides. the part of the exhaust is called the crossover, y-pipe, etc.


    i did exactly that a couple weeks ago. i'll go snap some pictures for ya

    I wonder if this mod will interfer with a 1 peice driveline? Is it true if you switch to a 1 peice you get less vibes and its better? I just heard guys swithcing to them after lifts and shit.

    it's better and worse.

    pros:
    -no more vibes from lifting
    -stronger (this is a maybe, because tacoma drive shafts are already huge compared to most other vehicles in our weight and power bracket.

    cons:
    -you lose some ground clearance off road
    -you create an angle where the shaft meets the transfer case (or transmission for 2wd) that wasn't there before.

    axle shims may still be a good idea with a 1-piece, not for vibes, but to help the angle of the differential and the shaft

    and im learning to weld now to make my own bumpers and sliders
