knife took 2 years to make. i have 2 different kinds of randall made knives.
the story on the ford is it is a 1941. delivered to the army in 1942 forget exact date my grandpa got ahold of it a long time ago added the top and window and i think the roll bar was added before he got it.my grandfather used it as a work vehicle around our house in nc before he passed. its a 4 cylinder motor 60hp. 4x4 with dana 25 and 27 axles. i repainted it flat brown this year and replaced the shackles on it it really needed the shackles done. and thats all i know. there are a few bullet holes in it though

 

2 years isn't horrible...i've hear some people's taking 4. sure is a beauty

awesome story behind the ford. has the motor ever been rebuilt, or is it somehow still chugging along in original form?
and for the bullet holes.

yeah i got my knives a few years ago before 07 so there is a long wait for the knives now.

motor is original has original oil bath air filter also. all it needs done really is a new oil pan gasket i have that and the pinion seal replaced on the rear axle. and i have that. then it "shouldnt" leak anymore.
and i guess its mine nobody else uses it or works on it. i also have that 1955 buick up there that needs a tail shaft seal on the tranny replaced

that buick is awesome, but i think the ford (off roader of the two) should get a little TLC. that would make a great restore truck. could even wheel it if you felt comfortable doing so.

 

yeah i would wheel it it would be fun but i need to get new leaves for it they make HD ones and on the ford gpw they have something called a torque reactor thingy majjig and its basically a leaf or 2 that go on the driver side of the treuck to fix the willys lean. fat ass and gas tank are on the same side lol

1) engineering's come a long way, because that's way overly complicated for what it achieves.
2) that shackle scares me
3) engineering asside, old car parts are so cool to look at and see where out current parts evolved from

 

you should have seen the old shackles didnt get any pics of them but they were messed up bad but yeah they are different to say the least i can get all the parts to make a new ford gpw basically. but all parts are pretty much readily available

you have no idea how convenient it is. got a service manual shackles and new data plates for it alread. and previously got oil pan gasket and pinion seal
