Riverrat this is a great response, I have a Fl concealed carry and a CT concealed and carry almost everyday, and have been asked by family all the time why I carry

I would say open carry is a lot better than concealed. If someone has a gun on him, I would rather want to know it. In my opinion concealed should be illegal, because in general only people who don't want you to know they have guns (crooks) will try to hide their guns.

I understand the reasons behind concealed and that not everyone who wants to be able to protect themselves wants to show off their guns, ....just my opinion that I prefer to know when you are armed.

Your post itself illustrates why open carry is less logical than concealed.

Outlaws will commit crimes regardless of laws, hence their name. You and their outlaws themselves would be able to see their law-abiding citizens guns, but... you wouldn't see theirs. See the problem?

Open and concealed carry should both be legal. There should be no restrictions to carry concealed except a criminal (and maybe mental health) history check. Everything else should be strongly recommended (and it can be worded deceitfully so as to convince morons to do it).

it's not a question of "allowed"... it's a question of "shall not be infringed", ..and many state constitutions back that up to more specfiicity.. in most states, CCW license costs money, requires a test, etc.. and some states, "may issue", means "mother may i" - that's BS!

how about a "poll tax", or a "voting test", ..then we can start talking about what we are "allowed" to do?..

I 100% agree with this post, Bad people do bad this regardless of the law..So if you tell the outlaws it is illegal to carry concealed, they are going to do it..I carry almost everyday, and I do not want anyone to know I have it. It is there for my own personal safety and the safety of my family. Not to be questioned or stared at.
