Is the magnaflow more restrictive than the stock muffler?

If its the straight thru Magnaflow, it will flow a little better than stock

It was stated that the Flowmaster was more restrictive than stock. No specific mention of the magnaflow vs. the stock muffler. I had a magnaflow on my '07 V6 w/ auto and the mileage figures improved slightly with that muffler.

It would seem that the main reason to swap muffs would be to get a different sound? A huge increase in mileage probably not going to happen.

Exactly, I'm not trying to gain any power or mileage, I just want to get a deeper sound from the exhaust.

Alright, I got it installed this afternoon for $130 (muffler + labor), and only took about 30 minutes. It sounds excellent when the truck starts up and when it's accelerating in first gear. Unfortunately that's all I heard from the outside, my friend is going to drive it around so I can hear it from the outside.

Inside the truck the muffle does sound a tad ricey at certain RPM's, but hopefully that is just on the inside. I'll post up a video shortly.

nooope.. flowmaster is known to be ricey in high rpm... i had the 40 series on my truck with a built v6 and headers... hated it... went spintech and love them... however the next ones i do on my next race truck will be magnaflow race series.... motherfuckers are meannnn.

I think it sounds great at low RPM's, but yeah, high RPM's aren't exactly what I had in mind. My next exhaust will be a cat back.

i've got the 50 series on mine, basically i had drug the factory barrel on the rocks so i figured it was time to get a new "smaller" one. i decided on the 50 series and was a bit worried that it would be either to loud or to ricey... after having it on the truck for awhile now i can say that i am perfectly happy with it, it gives the truck some tone without being to loud... and you wont mistake it for a honda either.
