I'm considering installing a a flowmaster #817719 dual side exit stainless steel exhaust. Has anyone done this? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

I read something that adding a dual exhaust will only hurt you HP? I'm not a pro, but am curious myself to see if this is a thing.

I put a flow master on mine. Exhaust 1 out of each side. Had to use longer braided brake lines for the left side. Sounds good.

Don't think adding exhaust, any kind of exhaust, would hurt HP. Maybe lose... ok, "lose" is the wrong word... Maybe you would "trade" some low end torque for high end torque.

You're looking for the word "lose" I think.

    "Loose" means it's not "tight".

Depends on whether the dual exit is simply two tips on a really short Y at the end of the exhaust pipe - or whether it's actually a dual exhaust system from the heads back.

I've always been told doing a true dual exhaust (headers back) on small engines robs them of overall power. This comes from the custom exhaust shop here in town. The guy flat out refused to even talk to me about dual exhaust on a 4.0L V6 (let alone a 3.5L).

I imagine that's what the OP's kit will be too. It "looks" dual but it's not.

Yeppers. Looks cool on a cold morning and steam coming out both sides.

Our V6 doesn't sound good with any muffler, I would suggest watching a lot of youtube videos before pulling the trigger.

It's hard to make a V6 sound good. I've got Long Tube headers, a Spintech Muffler, and a Resonator on my 2015 (V6 4.0L) to create a unique sound. It's never going to sound like the rumbly V8 though.

This is still one of the best exhaust videos I've see for a 3rd gen.

    https://youtu.be/4l9Twi1Yehs

Was initially going to get the same setup done, but opted for a custom Magnaflow setup instead (goes on Friday!), just from past experience... But still sounds bad ass IMO.

Kyitty, if I remember reading right, didn't you go with a Vibrant bottle/performance style resonator, or they Ultra Quite? Been reading so many exhaust threads this week in preparation for my setup.

That's not too bad. Bummer he didn't give it the skinny pedal though - or show a clip of how it sounds under load.

Yeah I did a Vibrant 12" Resonator. Had to because of the URD Long Tube Headers & Cat Delete. Terrible, Terrible rasp after that install. God it was embarrassing to drive the truck for a week until the resonator showed up.

Just got rid of the K&N CAI too. Sounds better now. Engine itself isn't screaming all the time. I can actually hear the exhaust now.

Here's a clip I did couple weeks ago (before removing K&N). During the in cab acceleration bit you can hear a vibrating sound... that was the K&N intake. I need to do new vids now that the K&N is removed. So much less engine noise.
