tonight i put a flowmaster super 44 on my truck.
before i had dual straight pipes, now i have the flowmaster and still have the dual tail pipes. i cant believe how much more power i have, seems like im gonna get alot better gas mileage too!!

i thought i had good power w/ the straight pipes.... until i put the flowmaster on lol
i guess these trucks arent meant to run open exhaust.
just a tip for anyone else that is running a straight pipe.

it sounds really good too. alot better than a super 44 with only a single tail pipe.

I've seen a bunch of posts on here saying you actually lose a slight amount of power with flowmasters. I guess you lose a LOT with straight pipes then!

Until you post numbers (which I'm guessing you don't have) I'm going to call shenanigans.
You might have a little better throttle respnse and a better feel than with the straight pipes...but that's because straight pipes is handicapping the SHIT outta your engine- You are still behind the curve over all....

ahhh ohhhh, another one bits the dust.

    flowmaster,magnaflow,thrush,trd,etc...=sound,raw BA-ness
stock= best power you will see(if toyota could get you more power from a 150 dollar muffler they would have engineered that way...)

just my .02 tho...and stats by members on this forum

What they all said above. Flowmasters are about the most restrictive mufflers out there. You may have a gain over the no muffler set up you had, but thats due to it having even less than stock.

True statement. Cat deleted the Y-pipes and gutted the header cats about a year ago... sound drove me nuts after about a day when the novelty wore off and a was always throwing CELs and in turn Safe Moded performance. Spent $60 to have it done, and about $350 of tacoma classifieds over the period of a month or so to get it back to stock.

The dynomax super turbo is the only one I know of that increases power.
