if you are doing it purely for sound.....flowmaster 40 series....or the flowmaster super 44......for a lil more quiet.....50 series.......for good performance and sound, but not too loud tho.....dynomax super turbo.

The muffler shop talked me out of the 40 and into a Magnaflow. At first it was loud enough, but I wish I would have gone with the 40... IMO.

Personally, I'm over FM's, they are heavy as hell and rattle themselves apart and rust out. I've had to put a patch on mine within the first year. (the inlet cracked all around, and yes, my hangers are correct) . I used to be a fan of them, but it's MF for me next time after installing a few on some trucks. More design options and way lighter, and still sound great depending on which one you get. You want noise, go with a 4" x 14" round, the truck will sound like a race truck! But keep your foot out of it when when Johnnie law comes around...My 02.

Yeah, they are for me. But the 6" x 14" round has a nice low tone, is no way loud, and just sounds nice. I thought it would be a bit louder, but it was kind of a sleeper at idle, but had nice tones when driving. It'll be what I replace my FM 50 with next time. My 50 is turned down right after. It's just big & heavy.

In terms of performance what are we speaking of ? What kind of gains from which set up?

5 horses would be great, but if i would like some sound too. if it doesn't sound much better than stock its not really worth it to me.
