Since I bought it new, I have had my Tacoma undercoated with Fluid Film every Spring and Fall. I live in Western New York where they treat the roads heavy with salt and my Truck has been through three winters and has 40000 miles on it. Had it up on the lift at a Friends shop this morning. The only rust I could locate anywhere was some very minor surface rust on the rear springs. So far, I am very happy with the results of treating it with fluid film.

Do you treat it yourself or get it done somewhere?

Check back in 6 yrs and 100,000 miles. You wouldn't have had any noticeable rust in this time anyway.

    Iripha,
I had a local shop do it.
    Mongoose,
I will see if I can post some pics.
    Diabetik81,
I have seen some trucks (Toyota and others) that the frames are starting to rust after just a few years.
My 92 stayed ok rust wise with just washings for 180000 miles. My 2002 had bad frame rust at 220000 miles. This Tacoma I am treating with fluid film in hopes it helps with rust. I keep my trucks a long time. Time will tell but so far I am happy with the protection.
