You should always place jack on a flat surface point when jacking any vehicle. Fluid film won’t have an effect on the jack slipping

…and never-never-never crawl under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Fluid Film or not!

Hu? What kind of jack are you using? What is your jack point? On a flat surface? Regardless. IMHO it is no more dangerious after FF than before.

yeah, do you offroad? i understand getting to a flat surface if possible, but anything other than flat surface + fluid film youre saying is an issue? just wondering how practical that notion is and thanks for your input

If its sketchy I slide a tire under a solid point on the vehicle.

thats a good point and totally applicable with a fully oiled underside, or without!!! makes ya wonder if throwing a single jackstand is a bad idea even...

It's a StopTech Big Brake Kit (BBK). 4 wheeling on long technical trails my stock brakes would fade. Scared myself a few times.

I was referring to the point in which you are going to Jack from on the truck.

Always use jackstands in addition to jacks. Chock at least two of the wheels left on the ground. Wood or cinder blocks will get you squashed. If your jacks appear to slip from undercoat or oil deposits, find a different jack point.

    thank you and good points
so you carry a jackstand with you in your truck? maybe a smaller spare ac delco i could add to my kit, but i actually have used the method of throwing a wheel under the vehicle as well like someone mentioned. tough call, dont want to be carrying unnecessary weight ya know

Yessir. Picked up a harbor freight set from Craigslist for $15. Just barely tall enough.

Just wipe off the frame where you intend to jack the vehicle up. Touch up the coating later
