I have a 1999 taco prerunner 4 cyl. I was wondering as a rule is it every 30,000 that the tranny fluid should be changed? I can't find it in my owners manual. Useless! Need shop manual. Thanks in advance.

I think gear oil under heavy use is 30k and trans fluid is 60k but I could be wrong, its happened before lol

in any vehicle using non synthetic atf, i would do the trans at least every 60k under normal circumstances. Closer to 30 if you tow a lot. Probably double both of those with synthetic. And i'm talking about changing ALL of the fluid. Not just the 1/3 of it that's in the pan at any given time.

Gear oil I'd probably do closer to every 30 if you tow a lot, use cheap super gear oil, or do water crossings often.
