Mine just broke on its own the first time I casted it. They eventually fixed it without the $60 fee because I complained enough. From what I read on the website, you might have to pay the fee even if it does have the $25 year warranty, but maybe you could bypass that by going into the store.

The same shit everyone else has.
Never had an issues with anything Orvis. I've returned 4 pairs of Silversonic waders because the seams started leaking in em.

I would never buy another pair but their customer service has always been good to me.

I do own their guide sling pack and a Clearwater rod and reel which I really like.

Yup. For some reason trout love neon colors. Pink weenies have consistently cause me nice wild browns this winter. Ncluding my biggest to date.

Gotcha... I haven't fished any Orvis rods in many years, but Sage does the the same thing - $60 for warranty work. Beats buying a new rod!

The only problem was the rod isnt much over double that, so it felt stupid to pay that much to have it fixed since it wasn't even my fault.

Probably also seems stupid complaining about the quality of a <$200 rod, but Orvis is proud of their products, and the other stuff they make is fantastic. I have a pair of fly tying scissors that I am confident will last forever

Got a couple hours today to finish the casting deck, except for the final grinding to pretty it up. What a pain. Constant trial and error to get decent joints to weld. Glad this step is behind me.IMG_20170316_144201568.jpg IMG_20170316_141655.jpg

I have really enjoyed watching your progress on this boat. If you still plan on selling this one and don't mind me asking, what do you plan to ask? I couldn't imagine selling it if it was mine after all that time and work.

Pink or orange. When I can't get anything to hit around here, I throw something bright pink or orange. 60% of the time, it works every time.

During the off-season - I remove the fly line from my reels and store in big coils hanging from a few of pegs. Cleaned, conditioned and re-spooled all the lines last night.

Most winters here in Maine, even moving water freezes up for a month or two.

@The Taco Bear - I know Nashville isn't close, but I'm heading to Chattanooga next week for work. Any decent fly-fishing opportunities in that area? I may be able to add on a day/night to my trip for a free day off.

Tims Ford Damn - fly fishing the Tail-water which is called the "Elk River" is a beautiful area and only a stone skip away from Chattanooga. Lots of runs, riffles and deep pools. The only thing you need to be worried about is a release of water from the damns cause the areas use hydroelectricity to power local communities through the core of engineering. However, big browns and bows on the river along with some brookies.

No problem, here is the link to the TVA generation schedule the next day is usually produced around 6pm CST for the next day. However, the Elk always has opportunities to fly fish rather than other tail-water damns located in TN. Yeah, there are some spots from shore bent over trees and other obstacles where browns and brooks like to play. That would be closer to the damn if anything.

Eh... After Generations yeah for like 30-45 minutes however, there are some rocks you can transverse across and be good. If you can make a up to a 50ft cast you'll hit the other side of the bank. I haven't been down there in a month and rivers shift and change nature.

I'm use to tight conditions and roll cast 50' regularly.

Thanks for the info and the link!
