Haha! They're only bad for a few weeks. Black flies in May/early June and then Mosquitoes in June/early July. I use a Deet free repellent as that Deet will melt tippet material. The bugs don't really bother me too much. It's mostly mental dealing with swarming insects around your face. A light hooded jacket or t-shirt and a baseball hat is all I use.

Is this one called the Double Haul Lanyard? Looks like a neat and light option for small stream hiking days!

Just ordered one! I need..want.. one for those stream hikes that don't require a lot of gear, just a small fly box, nipps and tippet. I figure this will be hard to lose with that clip to the shirt. I've been known to set down a sling pack while fishing a section and then just hike away form it...duhhh!

As have I! Caught that little native guy in the first set of pics recently, but yes the area is known for big ole' buttery browns as well! Got to wait for all the rednecks with their spin rods to move along though

Guys- I need a little bit of help here. I'll be going to South Fork, Colorado in a few weeks to fish and was thinking about stopping off in Santa Fe, New Mexico and camping for a night, and fishing for a day or so before making the final leg to South Fork.

I've never fished Santa Fe and wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations or suggestions as to where to camp, where to fish, ect. I'm literally looking to fish for like 5 or 6 hours before going to CO, and I live in Texas so if you're worried about letting the secret out on your favorite "honey hole"- you don't have much to worry about- I promise.

I was just wanted to reach out to TW and see if maybe you guys had any suggestions on either.

I appreciate the help in advance.

Yes, I will be exclusively fly fishing (don't even own a spinning rod) so I won't be tearing them up on spoons and spinners...

    And bobbers.

    I mean "indicators".

As long as it's not help with a spinning rod, I think you're good.

Dry or die, I believe is how the phrase goes.

Naw, we're not against much of anything in here. Long as you're out in the woods or on the water enjoying it while being a responsible outdoors person, I'm all for what ever you're doing.
