    Score. Nice.

I own a few Cabelas rods and like them a lot. I use my 7'6" 3w Three Forks all the time. It's my favorite rod. I have 2 'glass CGRs that I use from time to time.

I have a CGR reel which I really like too. It's been my go to for a while now.

I'm waitin for the CZNs to go on sale and I'm gonna scoop one up.

My favorite dry fly rod is still my original Cabela's Traditional fly rod 9' - 5wt. It's the second fly rod I bought way back in my 20's. It's why I still prefer slow/moderate rods for dry flies & Brook Trout.

Been researching leader setups. Lots of small variations, but many things in common. To get started, I think I'll just pick up some of the Rio Euro Nymphing leaders as it's a complete setup including the tippet ring. I've got plenty of spools of fluorocarbon tippet to add on to that.

    Experimenting is half the fun!

Wish I could do better pics. These are my go to on a fly rod. The green inch worm is on a #10 or #8. A couple of split shot and your good to go. The fly is on a #10 or #12, I'm not good with hook sizes. It's called a BJ Variant. And no BJ doesn't stand for what some of you all are thinking. It's the guys initials that developed it. Calf hair wings and he told me the orange is some type of ostrich feather dyed. Great fly, easy to see, and floats good. It's killer on brown. The fly probably works as good after the browns teeth have torn the orange off and it's just brown. If you tie only use calf hair. I had a bunch tied years ago and the guy used some synthetic crap, money wasted.

What are you taking pics with?

I'd be interested in seeing some better pics of that BJ Variant, looks really similar to an H&L Variant but with orange.

On your inch worms, tie em with a bead head, you won't need and splitshot and add a lil looped tail on em, you'll catch ever more fish on it.

Taking with an IPad off handed. I'll try with my phone tomorrow and see how it turns out.

Was gonna mention the bead head as well. Although, I do like throwing a split shot on every now and then to change up water columns.

    Cool.

I use an iPhone 6 to take all my pics. I find if you lock the auto focus, then focus the locked square on the fly with a solid. Plot background, it'll take a better clearer picture.

Beadhead + split shot is my go to if I wanna get something deep fast.

I like bead heads as well, maybe a little lead wire for those quicker waters.

I took some more pics before I left for work so going to go ahead and upload them from my phone. Little better, but will take your advice for future. IMG_0126.jpg IMG_0127.jpgIMG_0128.jpg IMG_0127.jpg IMG_0126.jpg
Don't mind the dirty hands. I had a guy tie some recently but I don't believe he used the correct materials. His orange was not as brilliantly the dyed ostrich. Some may ask why an orange sack? I can't explain that one. I was fishing on a creek in the GReat Smokies with a good caddies hatch coming off. I reached up and caught me of the flies and low and behold it had an orange egg sack or something on the rear of its abdomen. My dad and I have been using this fly for 30+ years.

Thanks for the better pics. I appreciate it. I'm gonna see if I can whip up a few of them.

I've found that bright colors will sometimes trigger fish to feed aggressively. Think hot spots and neon collars on flies. I tie alotta nymphs with pink hot spots. I tie alotta buggers with pink and orange collars. I tie my Royal Wullfs with pink bodies. I'm sure the orange doesn't hurt this theory.

If one was going to order some, what size hook do you recommend? Also, what's an average internet price?

I bet that would crush the wild brook trout up here in the fall (the orange)!

Ha! Already have the backing & line (simple level line) and no extra spool needed since this will be a dedicated nymphing rod. Can do a quick leader change if I want to throw a dry with dropper.

Good friend tied up these flies recently for a fall (end of Sept) trip on some wild trout ponds.
