My neighbor has one of these and I was looking it over mounted on his SUV.
    Really impressive!

Not to diminish the product, but I resolved the goal with my more limited budget.
I just made a rod vault from an old 5' rod case.
Separate the rigged 9' rod and reel in the loose line.
Hold the rod with a rubber band and a reel cover to protect it.
I can have the rod back together again in less than a minute.

Definitely nothing wrong with a diy approach! I never minded just breaking them down in the truck but for road trips I just don't have the room and I'd risk breaking rods without putting them back in a hard case

Hang them from the roof of the cap like a rod rack?

Had an insane pre eclipse day yesterday netting over 60 wild trout. Quite simply put it was my best day on the water ever. Here are some samples.

Can I ask what stream you were on. I'm always admiring them.

This is the one and only fishery I'm selfish about as far as sharing goes. It's deep in WV

Thanks I hardly get away from it all to fish wild trout anymore.
The closest I have been to you was probably my time fishing the N. Branch of the Potomac upriver from Bloomington below the dam, this when I was studying in DC.

Man I'm just too lazy to use one of those things. I crack my rod in two, throw it in the back seat and I'm off to the next spot.

They are great when your fishing a stream and have to drive to different spots. I was able to keep all rods rigged up and ready to go just pull up grab one a hit the stream

Thule laddder racks, mounted 2 rod vaults for the trip to Roscoe. 3 guys 2 rods each in a DCSB. There was no way we could have fit all that in the cab even if they were broken down. It was great not having to break the rods down for a week!
