Yea the Thule exporter rack is mine. The rod vaults are the guys I went with. We rigged up my Taco for the trip. Only one problem, now I really want a rod vault for myself. Hahahahahahaha.

I've had a rod vault for about three years now and I couldn't imagine life without it.

You mean the effort to take everything down or simply pull the rod sections apart at the ferrells?

I still keep my rods rigged, just pop them in half. Looks like it does the trick for you though.

The same shit everyone else has.
Fish smaller rods. My 7'6" fits diagonally in the bed of my truck :D

Ive also built a holder for the bed that lets them hanging out over the tailgate with the Supertop back window rolled up. It holds 4 rods no problem an works really really for camping and shit.

Been busy but been out a few times. Did a trip to Calgary last month and had some great days on the water catching Rainbows, Cutthroat and even a Bulltrout on the dry fly which was a first for me. Been fishing local rivers and beaches lately and will be heading back to Calgary for another week of visiting/fishing in mid-September.

Here are a couple of photos from the recent trips.

I'll post a few more when I get back from my next few trips, and then it is on to Salmon season down here on the coast!

When I'm fishing multiple days in a row on a trip I typically fold them in half and keep them ready to go for the next day. I do break my rods down after every day trip though, wipe everything down and put it all away after every trip. Prefer to have my rods stored in the tubes for bouncing around on the backroads when I can.

What a beautiful area you live in!
    I am envious.
You probably know the Bow river (Calgary).
I noticed that you were using what looks like a brown dun.
I cannot remember the last time I fished dry, and I am talking years.
Do you ever fish nymphs and emergers?
I've fished nymphs down to size 28 at times.

I didn't have a chance yesterday unfortunately. Work is keeping me too busy but I'll try to update you as soon as I try it. I did find another mounting method that caught my eye Screenshot_20170822-124406.jpg

:D He was giving me some tips on current insects.

A lot of those pictures are from the Calgary area from a trip I did mid-July. I live in the Vancouver area and the last couple of photos were from this weekend around here. We have a lot of different fly fishing opportunities within a few hours all year long.

I did a couple days on the Bow in July and we caught a low of rainbows. My buddy got one nice Brown about 23" but we didn't get a chance to snap a picture of it.

The fly in the mouth of the bulltrout is a green drake. They are a great pattern to use at times in the summer out here. Typically in BC I fish them more in September, but they were out in July in Alberta. I do nymph when there is nothing on the surface, but I prefer fishing dries in the rivers when I can. I will typically toss a few dries at a run that has fish, and if that doesn't work I switch up to emergers and nymphs for a pass through. I do most of my nymphing for whitefish and trout in the winter and early spring around here.

No worries - just keeping you honest!

I like that flush mount (to the bar) - are there more details on that? That would be sweet mounted under the bar.

Don, honestly I always had problems separating my ferrells on the TFO rods I used. So you got me thinking in my box LOL

Supposedly he just bought extended bolts and threw out the mounts. I like how it looks though if you go that route you lose the ability to lock the rack mounts. Security bolts might be a viable option but I think in either case if someone wants it enough they'll get it
