there is def. better fishing platforms then an SUP. you have to keep it simple one small water proof bag. i made a lanyard with para cord for my hemo's, nippers and tippet. depending on the board you can put a small milk crate on it to hold some gear everything will get wet. I went swiming a few times the first few times i went out. it gets easier the more you go. kataks and john boats are way better to fish out of. the SUP is just a challange i wanted to try.

The same shit everyone else has.

Gotta fish not so famous streams. I avoid all the "popular" well known streams. I seems to find better fish in smaller streams that don't get pressured. On that note, use love to explore the Pine Creek area.

That's my favorite part of fishing - the exploring. I love staring at maps. It gets old fishing the same water multiple times.

On another note, GIF of one from last week.

And this bad mofo crushed a streamer yesterday.

Walking through cabelas a few weeks ago I saw this Umpqua vest marked down to 103. It was missing the foam fly holder on the right shoulder and had a bit of dirt on the front but otherwise brand new. Well today it had a purple stamp and was on 83 bucks. I had to do it even though I had no business spending any money

Amen! most guys i know hit the same hole on the same river all the time. one of my friends and I explore all kind of water and have found great holes to fish. three years prior to this year the water was real low, fishing was bad toward the end if the stocking. We used that time to scout new streams and creeks. Caught some fish along they way, but the knowledge gained paid off this year when the water was back at normal levels. Passing by crowds of guys fishing shoulder to shoulder at the well know holes to hit the spots we found! We would limit out in a hour then release the rest. had a couple days where we had 25 fish in the net each!

Waiting for the evening hatch on the Henry's Fork, Island Park Idaho. Riverside Campground. Nice campground (though busy) with good river access. Great location to basecamp and then explore the Henry's area; The Ranch, Box Canyon... There is also plenty of free-disperse camping close by as well. We were there last month and had a blast and some good luck with a few fish. It can be a tough place to fish and we had a couple skunk sessions but the scenery and challenge make the humiliation worthwhile!

I'll share a couple photos, first fish slurped an ant in about 6" of water less than a foot off the bank. He was about 24". The last photo a thunderstorm rolled in and we debated pulling off until it passed, but he slurped a beetle as soon as it became an absolute downpour. He had some serious shoulders on him. And my dog wants to be friends with fish.

Did you fish the Ranch? Last shot looks similar. Or it could be that run near the Trout Hunter Lodge. Beautiful area.
