Nah Great lakes salmon only look like that after they have been sitting in a hole for a few weeks ready to expire.

Anyone using those? I've been lookin at wading boots again and keep finding these on sale for 140$.

Hopefully. Fishing was tough yesterday. Everything was still lower than normal.

Checked my rain gauge around 6pm this evening - sitting at 1/2" and it's still raining.

 

I switched to simms boots a while ago. i dont have that model boot, but mine have lasted 6 years and are still in good condition.

My boots I fixed are still going strong but Im always lookin for a deal.

I got an Orvis Days coupon in the mail and planned on ordering another pair of the boots I currently have until I looked at the fine print and the coupon no longer applies to fishing gear. So I started look around else where and found those

 

i got the same coupon, i was gonna use it for new fly line till I read the bottom

 

Stripes are starting to get a little frisky on the topwater bite... Still a little early and not 100% commited, so they are up and down quick.

But was in the right place at the right time Saturday morning and got one! Only going to get better the next couple of months!!!

 

I landed two fresh coho's today. Let them go. I have 5 more days to fish, and only need to take 5 or 6 home to appease the people that want them.

 

Lost most of my fly tying equipment over a few moves (not sure where it goes...) My fiancé was stoked to learn at a buddy's of mine party so I picked this up. Looks like an awesome kit and should get her and I back into it quickly.

 

Had a good day at Walnut Creek today. I landed several steelhead and a nice brown

 

They starting to run up there? I got a buncha PTO to burn and was thinkin about taking a mid week trip up there soon.

I've never fished for steelhead because I always read/hear about how much of a circus it is as soon as the rains start. I wanna give it a go this year and was thinkin a mid week trip wouldn't be too horrible people wise.

 

Welp. I just pulled the trigger on a pair of G3 Guide boots. I was looking around for more reviews on the Headwater boots and came across the G3s for less the Orvis boots I currently have and was gonna buy again. For 160$ shipped Ill give em a try. If I can get a year outta em Ill be happy. Maybe theyll surprise me

 

Ive been rocking Simms Freestone boots for like 4 years and they are holding up great. I am sure the G3's will give you plenty of service.

 

That what I assumed. I'd rather drive an hour less and fish for wild trout without seeing another person all day then deal with that kinda circus.

 

It’s worth a trip every now and then. They are a blast to catch. If you get a bonus coho,chinook brown or what ever it is well worth fighting the crown in my opinion. Just go being prepared for the crowd.
