The same shit everyone else has.

Great tip. KISS. Makes sense. I'm gonna have to see what I can do.

What's everyones preferred hackl for wooly buggers? I was using a Metz half cape and it worked well but I used up all the bugger sizes hackle on it. Most of my buggers are #8 & #10.

I've been using Whiting Farms 100 pack for most of my dry fly hackle and I like it. I was thinking of trying some of their bugger pack.

I’ve always used strung saddle hackle for buggers
The dyed grizzly style looks great, usually in brown or olive :)

I Was struggling tying 18 & 22s. I bought a magnifying glass/lamp and it really helps but it is an eye age thing with me. I can't see(pun intended) how trying one would hurt.

    :spy:

Just pokin' in to say hi! Been busy waterfowl & upland bird hunting all month.

Got 12 ruffed grouse skins sitting in borax drying right now. If anyone is interested in any, message me. I'll have a few leftover after I give some to some buddies here.

I've got a buddy that ties size #24 & #26 nymphs....no idea how he does it. He won't fish anything bigger than size #20. So so small. But he catches 5 lb Brook trout on them with 6x tippet.

What's up  Fishing has been slow here the streams are low. Upland bird is great! I don't get to go much since the property is gone.

Same here, the water is still too warm. After some hiking I found some deep pools holding good size fish , but couldn't get them to take anything.

I used to tie some really small flies, like 24s and 26s, but they'd be quick and easy ties... Thread body (olive, black, red, and cream), lightly dubbed thorax, and then a hares ear or Antron wing and tail/shuck. When they are that small, no need to get complicated!

For tiny dries, dubbed body and palmered hackle... Like a mini griffins gnat.

mats, flaps, and stickers. Extang solid fold 2.0. Mobtown sliders and full skids. AVS vents
16’s are my limit. Anything smaller, and I support the local shop who does a great job with the little ones.

Simple tiny midge emerger... I'd drop something like this off the back of a 18 or so dry. You could also skip the "wing" or add a tiny bead for a nymph version.

These guys are simple to tie and deadly
Pick your color and size (up to 12 or so) for any mayfly or midge and the cdc wing floats well and is visible. I usually tie the wing a little longer and stand it up more :). Paintbrush bristles make great cheap tails
Lose the tail and tie the wing down style on a longer hook and u have a deadly stonefly or caddis......
When fishing the tiny stuff using a large point fly usually makes sense especially in pocket water
U prolly know all these things tho :)
Oh yeah Gel spun polyethylene threads make tying the little stuff easier for me
