How does this work? It came with my recent Chinese reel purchase.

It looks like the "Chinese fingers" we use to pull cable thru conduits, obviously, much smaller.

Is it for a knotless leader to fly line point?

I've always just used an Albright knot.

I think the little plastic piece might be shrink tubing.

    Thanks for looking.IMG_20180318_090841.jpg

Interesting. Looks like the lillian on the tip of my tenkara rod.
I am not sure why they would do that for a knotless point as it is redundant, Why not just use the loop that is already there? o_O
    How much "line" is there?

Was he using a mono line as a backing? Amazing that there are professional casters out there. But like Hank Patterson says....it should be call fly casting, not fly fishing as much of your time is spent casting instead of catching fish.

Loop connector as you suspected. I use loop to loop, but don’t use those. I just tie a percfection loop and call it good.

Should there be two loops though? I am confused by that pic.

The one he pictured slides over the fly line. Then you tie a loop in your leader, and connect as your picture shows.

I've never used these as I simply see it as another unnecessary connection. I always cut off factory loops & tie on a short heavy mono section with Maxima Chameleon using a nail knot and a perfection loop on the end.

When I'm waiting in the truck to pick up my daughter at school, I practice tying knots on some tippet and line. I probably look like a freak, but it keeps things fresh

Same. Except at work and getting paid. I call that an Uber win.

I've been eye balling that unit. I've spent more for a lot less satisfaction.

    Thanks.

Try "dieing rabbit in distress' no one knows what that sounds like. Even funnier when you do it with a diapham call. No one can see that it's you making the noise.
