Ditching the loop to loop connections on my euro nymph rig (10' 3wt). Went with a 16" 25lb butt section. Nail knot to fly line & blood knot connection to leader.

Don't envision needing to change leaders much as my tippet is attached with tippet ring.

Headed to some rivers in western Maine this weekend... finally!

    @DrFunker :yes: :woot:

Ready to go for this weekend. I can fit a couple extra leaders and my 3 nymph boxes inside!!

I like this much better than the other one.

I've switched to them for all but my streamers and dry flies. I really like that they're clear, very thin and can easily fit in shirt and/or wader pockets.

I don't think I'll even need this for my Tenkara gear...that'll all fit in a shirt pocket. I'll keep this for all nymphing.

    Reserected from the dead.
Sitting here in Rock Hill South Carolina visiting wife's family.

Got given the day to myself.

Stopped at several bait shop asking about trout fishing in the area. Got nothing but dumb looks.

Now cat fishing, these people take seriously.

Seriously thinking about doing a cat fish charter. Thinking about giving this, ehem, cat a call. Anyone got a review? There is supposed to be some huge catfish in the Catawba river system.IMG_20180421_113835.jpg

The same shit everyone else has.

This. Ive tried all kinda different lines at different price points. Ive been most satisfied with 444 DT line for the type of fishing I do.

I destroy fly line pretty quick - a year or 2 - so I cant justify spending more than 30-40$ on a roll.

That said, most lines are created pretty equal for the price.

Still winter in Western Maine. Ponds still mostly frozen and the big lakes are still locked in.

Sorry, that's all I got. I rarely do full fish pics anymore. I like the close up detailed pics. It was only about 16".

Plus, with this fish, the water was really cold (still) and surprisingly low, so I wanted a quick release.

Did a little exploring in Central PA, fished some new streams and caught some lovely brookies and a brown. 530807DC-D3BC-4F79-A35E-A9E3035ECAA9.jpg1F05A44A-23B9-4525-83D3-611ADCD65F19.jpgAC199F5D-CFDF-4A2A-A3EA-EF7D73E69AFF.jpg52FE1EFC-B5E5-45B1-8095-30DCAA09606F.jpg

Any interest here in a TFO BVK 9ft 7 weight rod?

    https://tforods.com/bvk-fly-rods/

I bought it from someone as part of a rod/reel combo and I just needed the reel... They wouldn't split it up and I don't really need a 7 weight.

Retail is $280, so I think $165 (plus S/H) is fair... It will also come with a nice aluminum rod tube, unlike a new TFO BVK. Message me for pics if interested.

I love catching little brookies on my 3wt. I just have to remind myself not to set the hook like its a tarpon!
