    Opinion request time...

I have a dave scadden pontoon boat that I'm hoping to sell (bought a raft instead). One of the pontoons has a really slow leak. Like, I pumped up both on saturday, and the one is probably a little more than half full (probably sits now at the same pressure as my garage). I've used it like this for a couple of years and never had an issue on a days float.

Scadden has a lifetime warranty program, but one of the big strikes against Scadden is getting them to actually do the warranty work. I'm 99% sure they'll just come back and say that they no longer sell these types of pontoons and that I have to buy new ones at a "discount". That price is likely what I want to sell the boat for.

So, how should I advertise this? I'd have to think that very little to nobody is going to buy this if one of the pontoons has a slow leak, right? I don't think I would.

I did some searching on craigslist, and it seems people are selling used ones for about $800 (I bought mine used about 10 years ago for $500 from a guy who used it once in 2 years... new they are $1000). I was hoping to advertise for $500... and be content with $400.

    Any suggestions?

    20170612_155256.jpg

aside: this $400 or so was going into the new wheel fund for FN FX Pros. so I'm kind of motivated to sell it... but if I don't, that just means a few more months of saving.

my friend has the 3F 5wt. and it is real nice. i haven't had a chance to cast the 3D. I have a 6wt. recon and it's a great rod. I'm looking at the 8wt. recon for steelhead and salmon.

Can you locate and fix the leak? If so just do it yourself and sell it for what you think it’s worth

I'm going to try, but it's a bladder inside the pontoon, and I'm not sure it'll be easy to locate. I should have stated that I was going to try to patch it... but my post in my head assumed that I couldn't fix it.

I think craiglist is going to be your best bet. I bought my raft off there. You could try mountainbuzz.com but I'm not sure that type of pontoon would move there.

I was going to say fix the leak yourself as well, but I don't know much about fixing an internal bladder.

Out of curiousity, what type of raft did you get?

    Stealthcraft hooligan.

After seeing one at a FF show in early 2017, I worked with them and got a pretty good deal letting stealthcraft use it as a floor model at the 2018 FF show. I did a billion hours of research (give or take a million hours). I looked at flycraft (too narrow), smithfly (couldn't kick the tires on it in person like I could the stealthcraft), or building my own with an NRS frame (too lazy). There are a few raft builders that if I lived in the west I'd have paid more attention to (catchercraft, RMR).

One of those lines I bought with the outfit had a ton of memory, and nothing I did seemed to help. Just switched it out for a softer one.

Yes. I immediately noticed it when removing it from the package and putting it on the line holder (a while back). I figured it would straighten out after some use....but nada. I may return it.

NH still has to re-write the laws on those. Depending on the F&G officer, they can bag you on trout ponds.

The NH Law specifically states fly rod & reel. Tenkara is technically illegal.

In other news @DrFunker , on you way up for the waterfall extravaganza ( I know ) , you could swing by and we could stop on a few watering holes...eh eh?

Side note. Did a thing. Way too many vessels now.
