Gonna head back out this afternoon and try again. Might chuck some meat. It’s a small stream so it’s hard to cast them...but we’ll see what happens

    Well...had a little mishap today.

Went fishing with a buddy in his 12’ NuCanoe kayak. Very very stable boat. BUT...the water was flowing about twice as much CFS as I usually like to fish that section. We ended up turning over going over a small drop in a rock garden. Combined, we lost about $2500 worth of stuff. My St Croix/Sage setup, a fly box with about $100 worth of flies, a net, his st Croix spinning setup, paddle, net, GoPro, gopro mount....

Luckily it was close to 60 degrees yesterday and not in the 30s like it has been.

Two recent addition to my truck specifically with fly fishing in mind. I grew up fishing streams in rivers in New England (Maine and NW CT mostly), but I've migrated to mostly salt now. I spend a considerable amount of time on Cape Cod, and my "boat" is an inflatable SUP. Personally, I think it's perfect for what I want to do. I can access flats and tidal rivers in a really versatile way, and whether it's a schoolie striper or a bullish albie, the stand-up paddle element is a dynamic I really enjoy. With that in mind, I just added a Decked storage box and a LD active cargo system. The storage will carry all my gear, and the SUP can now travel securely (I get tired of inflating and deflating, and I only pack it up when I need to hike into some water).

I'll also add an awning before the summer to go with my vehicle beach sticker. With two kids under 3, the shade is a no brainer for family beach days.

After my intro to this thread, I scrolled up and read this. Brutal. Glad everyone is safe and you have a hook up to take a little bit of the sting off.

All day long I’ve been wondering why my head was sore and why I have a pump knot. Just remembered the boat came down on my head when it came off the drop off

We’re good. Just sick at the thought of all the money sitting in the bottom of the river. Had a buddy that went up today to wade around and see if he could miraculously find any of it. No luck. I may go tomorrow and head downstream to some slower water and see what kind of luck I’ll have.

About a year ago someone posted a link to someone who does rehab or something with kids teaching them to tie and selling full boxes of those flies. Seemed like a good deal. Anyone recall of know what I'm talking about? I need to fill a box or two

A little fish porn, pics from last weeks trip to the Trinity River, Eel River and one from a local fly clubs spey casting tournament. If I can't get out to fish I at least have to look at pics of fishing!!

about 3 casts after the above pic was taken, this happened. The reel popped the spool, lucky it didn't drop off the rocks and into the river!
