A few spey casting pics from a local competition. When someone throws a perfect spey cast it's a graceful, beautiful cast. Wish I had the technique down!

Rock creek for that one, tried the tocoa and noontootla last weekend but not much luck, toccoa was too high to wade comfortably.

Yea the toccoa has been way high. Need it to go on down so I can go try to find my fly rod :(

Noontootla usually produces for me. I haven’t been to rock creek in a couple years.

First Post. Figure what better way to say hi to TW than with a fish pic, right?

Biggest Cutthroat I've ever landed, by far.

Sorry. I'll remove the location to keep the secret location a secret for you.

Personally- I would say local guides and outfitters displaying at every fly show around the country is doing more to pull outside traffic than a happy Fishermans post on a truck forum.

Its definitely no secret location, but the internet has destroyed far too many nice spots for me to not say anything.

If it makes you happy to post the location than by all means.. I was just stating my opinion that it isn't for the benefit of the place.

There is certainly truth to this. Location removed. Good luck out there.

It is a very beautiful place, watching the sunrise over the lake was pretty spectacular.

Didn't mean to come off as a dick:cheers: just another one of the places I have seen get worse and worse in terms of people and the trash they bring along. It is my favorite lake by a long shot.

I think just the simple fact that that populations have grown significantly in the last 10-15 years has also contributed. Not much anybody can do about that.

While I agree, population is probably just as much of a contributing factor, social media and the internet in general take out the mouth in "word of mouth" spots... back in the day you used to have to know someone that knew of a cool spot and also have alot more challenge to actually go out and scout and put boots on the ground to see if it's worth it. That or at the very least walk in to the local tackle shop and talk to a local.... Now you just google it or follow the big fisherman on Instagram and all the spots and baits are laid out for you.

Also this particular spot was not considered a nationwide destination 10 years ago. People now come from all over the country on a constant basis. That is due pretty much all to the internet and these pictures posted of 20lb trout naming the exact beach they came off.

Also when your grandpa, your dad, and you have fished a spot your entire lifes, then people come in from all around the country, fish it once, and blast the spot all over, it gets tiring.

I know its inevitable. Just always a bummer to see it

I am updating my $30pvc diy rod vault to aluminum. The aluminum version will be about $120 but way better. I also want it to pivot out of the way of the roof rack so I can get my yak up there. Here are some pics. I can provide material sources, details, etc if there is interest. The rack is a Rola and I just added the extension. Vault is nearly complete.

Nice! Glad to see you had a good day with Morgan. Was surprised to see my best friends picture on here. It’s an awesome fishery. I’ll be out there over the next 2 weeks.

Haven’t been as active on TW as I have been in the past. Just got a new truck and I gotta say it definitely tows the drift boat better than the 4 banger. Couple pics from the other day before the river blew 2D4BBCF7-9032-4368-A177-C4659D23155E.jpg D19D64B5-858C-40C6-971E-F0E04215C6F4.jpg
