I love the CGR rods. They are one of my favorite for the price. Do you fish the Neshanock?

The same shit everyone else has.

    I have 2 CGR rods. The 7’ and a 6’2”.

I avoid Neshanock like the plague. Fished it once and hated it cause it’s a circus.

I generally (99.7% of the time) avoid stocked water, unless it has wild fish mixed in in it.

It's my home water. You must have fished the artificial lures only area near Volant. I generally fish in the Emlenton, Tionesta, Clarion areas. I still hit the wild streams but not as much as I used too. Maybe 10 times a year.

Yup. Fished it once for the novelty to say I did it....

I fish the Clarion and Tionesta drainages a ton. Always wild fish.

They're good to go up to 65mph

Below the Alcova dam late afternoons was our best time. The bridge work has messed the flows up there though, water slowly dropped all day until about 5ish then they would bring it back up. Usually that water has some movement but this time we only had a short section where we could achieve any sort of drift. The mid week time we spent there was just us, Saturday it was packed. That last day we did ok swinging some streamers through the slower water which is always fun. Red san juans, orange eggs and black streamers were our hot hits.

The Reef was slow below the dam and at The Redds, we didn't make it to the Outhouse this time. We're usually there after the flush but they delayed it this year so I don't think as many fish have moved up yet. I still had a blast and can't wait for the next one.

Cool cool. I’m still trying to find a cheap way to carry a 9’ not broken down.

I open my rear window/camper shell window and put it in from passenger seat.
So the reel is near the passenger feet and rod goes through the window into campershell essentially.

Anyone been out on the Frying Pan or been fishing out by Aspen lately, maybe the Colorado? Heading out tomorrow and was wondering how it's been.

A shoot! Didn't think of that. Well I feel lucky mine has one now haha.
It is a little hard on the rod since you gotta fish it through cab and then itll rub through the window hole but I wrap a shirt over it.
I'm thinking of doing an attachment on my rack but honestly it's very low on priority list. Hopefully you find a method!

I am making a cheap, diy, rod holder like Denver outfitters. I’ll let you know how it goes. Though I think I would prefer the hood like the one above just because it would be easier to switch to another vehicle.

I just leave mine rigged, crack it in half and throw it in the backseat. Why complicate it.

I've done the same at times, use a couple of the twist ties you get on bread or whatever and use them to secure your line in place so it doesn't twist around the rod.
