The guides called it Hog Lake. Not sure what the real name was. It was on private property.

I want to try for a laker on fly. Would a sink line and spoon fly do the trick?

Also, @dwalden2 what size do you normally go with your hoppers? I need to get a few and thinking size 8-10.

It depends. I’ll try to remember to take a picture of my Chubby Chernobyl selection this evening. I’ve had fish from 8-20” hit the bigger ones, and I can drop something a little heavier under the bigger ones, so that’s usually what I go with. Here are a couple for reference.

You know it :) they’re moving up the river , currently in the vicinity of my house. The weather has been all screwed up the evenings I’ve been able to fish but there are definitely trout munching on them lol Ive stuck a few on the smaller stuff but nothing really noteworthy

Our water temps are low, I expect they’ll be later here this year. Have a trip planned for next weekend to Pine Creek in the PA Grand Canyon. I should hit them hatching, but not sure how prolific it will be.

Usually your best bet is to fish the spinner fall at dusk. Big white bastards, google coffin flies if you don’t already know this lol

I’m familiar. I’ll let the early birds struggle to catch fish, then hit the fall and have fun.

Always surprised at the size of lures/flies smaller fish like that will eat. I’ve caught fish on a jointed rapala that was literally the same size as the lure.
