How’d you break it? Grab above the cork?

No cork on the mini I have. I was snagged in a tree and pulled it back into a rock and it snapped the second section from the end. Looks like a $15 fix. Still love using this rod. Sometimes I wish I could reach a bit further but I'd likely be catching tree on the back cast where I've been fishing lately.

Caught quite a few of these, Tuesday and Wednesday. Great to get out. Only my second time this year. Gotta fix that.

I have had a Bucks Bag u-boat for years. It's great. But I recently got one of these. Way better. Only used it once so far this year but can't wait to get out in it again soon.

    I ice fish there occasionally.

I've been by there a few times in the last month or two and every time its been a complete zoo with people trying for the chironomids. Not my cup of tea. Generally, if I can see other fishermen I'm doing something wrong.

The only one that gets a pass for that is fishing in town here just for the after-work, convenience factor.

Exactly. So much water yet 90% of guys occupy 3% of it. I like the way you think.

If you ever get out to Cali I'd be more then happy to point you down the many paths less traveled.

Try the creek that flows out of them the next time you are up that way. It’s a little small, but holds some really nice fish.

Do it.. I wish I would have at least tried to rack up some qualifying fish before I left but I was too into bass fishing.

Well I just bought an entry level fly rod. 9ft 5 wt. Taking it on its maiden voyage this weekend. I am coincidentally heading back to california the first week of august. Chasing McCloud River Redbands and Lahontan Cutthroats. Anything in between is going to be a plus! Hoping to have the Heritage Slam Before I'm 30 lol.

I'm heading out in a few days for some Lahonton, Bow, and Golden action. Then in a few weeks getting some Colorado River Cuttie action.

I've got California Goldens under my belt. One of the purest strains outside of california I guess. I wish I had gone fishing when I had family in Colorado. Those Cuts look absolutely beautiful. I was planning on camping and fishing my way back to Cali but I don't think thats going to happen. Not much for fishing once I get into the Nevada desert anyway.

Where are you headed for Lahontans if you don't mind me asking.

Those Cutts I'm going to get aren't in CO. They are in Cali. Pure strain. The Lahontans are also very close to my home. Neither trip will require me to drive more then 45 miles from home. Both will take some hiking. I'll shoot you a PM later. If you don't get it by 5 or so remind me.

Caught a few on the fly today! My friend was throwing a jig head and caught a 12 incher. Another friend on the hike today caught a 16 incher just drifting worms.

I hooked up to one about 12 inches on a nymph. As soon as I put hands on it and took some tension off the rod and line it wriggled out of my hands!! My wife saw it so it’s true lol. Only other fish I took pictures of as I was wet wading in about waist deep water. Did not want to risk dropping my phone..
