So, do you know if Clack a Craft made or contracted the build of aluminum boats?

I have cleaned it up a bit more.

I got the floor replaced with some nice indoor/ outdoor carpet.

I did find the oars. The original owner had them. Still no paperwork. No biggie. It's easy to register a home built boat here in Michigan.PXL_20210119_203923009.jpg

Clack didn’t build aluminum — it’s just the branded trailer. They sell them by themselves all the time for people that build their own drifters, want to modify to fit a raft, etc. Come to think of it I don’t even think Clack builds their own trailers — they just resell from people like ProX.

Boat looks clean! Are you going to repaint the interior? Zolatone is most likely what was applied from factory on a boat that age. Clear coat over the top helps prevent blood from sticking :D

Yep, new top coating is on the schedule. Just haven't made it to the store to grab any.

I'm planning on using the Wetlander system on the bottom (shoe) like I did on my last drifter . Not looking forward to removing the old bottom coating.

Also in the planning stages for a propane heater system in the sled as well.

Yessssss on the heater. Have you seen the drift boat pizza ovens? You can cut-out the line-deck and point a heater head towards it. We've cooked all types of crap in there. You run the gas line under the floor and the propane bottle sits behind the rower's seat. I don't have a good picture but you can get a basket that fits in the hole (arrow). Excuse my buddy... he wears socks and sandals... uncivilized as fuck.

Yep have seen those heater styles.

I'd get along just fine with your bud. My favorite footwear is sock foot waders in sports sandles.

Thanks! It’s not the best fly spot. We usually put the fly rods away and pull plugs or drift beads when we go through it. The hole is about 6 feet wide on a good day but I’ve never seen a more productive spot. If you’re ever around the northwest in October let me know.

Day 2 — all natives (6!) no hatchery fish. Soaking wet the whole day. Anyone else fishing? Or are you all just waiting for spring ;)

probably shouldn't be fishing pyramid with a broken hand... recently picked up a Winston biiix 10ft, 4w for tight lining \ euro as there was a pretty good deal since they came out with a new rod. Anyone have any beta on this rod?

Definitely worth a trip. Its a pretty epic lake, buddy landed a 21 pound one a few weeks ago. Pretty nuts to see trout get that big. lucky to live nearby.
