Its usually the dogs who bust me leaving the tent in the morning. I'll be up before sunrise. Wife and kids will sleep in lol.

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
Got out fishing today with the fiance and a buddy. Got my first fish on a true nymph rig. Also got the fiance to catch her biggest fish since she started fly fishing.

Got out to chase some bass this morning. Biggest surprise was a large channel cat, that decided to eat my streamer. Unfortunately no one was around to take a picture.1389C730-F369-4504-A6C1-148A5AAD3BCC.jpg

Nice! It’s surprising how predatory catfish are. I’ve actually caught them trolling o_O

And how slimy...really slimy. Between that and a tendency to roll, they’ll mess up some tippet. Can’t complain about the tug though.

no wonder they have been around so long. Strong opportunists. Seeing one eat a top water would be a sight!

I was using a frog colored Zara puppy. We were targeting smallies.

Some coffin fly (eastern green drake spinner) action last evening. I missed the big one when he went completely airborne chasing these giant bugs lol

E0118876-E9F3-4E2C-8C0F-69E48A043AC6.jpg Tonight’s highlight was a solid native. It’s mind boggling that the DNR stocks mutant brooks and rainbows over these gems :frusty:

I also rolled a once in 5 years brown lol but the stupid thing spit the hook
