Sweet. I was going off what I thought was a Bull Trout sign in the background. So, you got trout but Bullies are Char. Glad you got into some fish.

I hate the internet.

 

I hate humanity.

Sacrificing Kirman will keep all the asshats that can hike there. That leaves the other 3 lakes within 30 miles of me, that also have HUGE brookies, safe. It's the same reason I always mention Coyote Flat, Coyote Flat, Coyote Flat when people ask about this area for wheeling. That keeps all the sheep in one location. That in turn allows me solitude when I go to the other areas I never, ever mention publicly. I may come across as helpful but really I'm just doing it for yours truly. lol

 

3160 miles driven, 6 states, 5 rivers, 17 friends/clients, & hundreds of fish caught.

Montana 2022 was an awesome time!

Our two client trips were on the Bighorn River near Fort Smith and the Missouri near Craig.

We also hit up Grayling Creek, the Gallatin and Henry’s Fork on the way up and back.

Highlights were watching returning friends catch fish now that they’re better fly fishermen, introducing these amazing fisheries to new people, incredible views, and getting a private concert at Hidden Canyon lodge by Jarred Hanson & Sunsah406.

Getting to spend time with both my dad and stepdad was icing on the cake.

Can’t wait for next year!

Honestly though, there are so many lakes and small streams in CA that it doesn't really make a crazy impact. If your current favorite spot gets crowded just drive 20 minutes down the road.

 

One of the guys in our group has a pic of the flyline and indicator flying off with the bird. The angler was yelling, "What do I do?". Guide responded by laughing. It broke the tippet shortly after grabbing the fish.

 

Started a new box of flies for fall.

 

Didn’t know this thread was a thing… super motivated by all the photos! Just getting into fly fishing. In fact I dusted my grandfather fly rod off and was practicing casting in the local park and on the beach when camping probably looked crazy but oh well.. Looking forward to hitting a stream soon. Picked up a few flies the local shop recommend and ya it’s go time!

 

Any trout fishing recommendations near the central Oregon coast? I'll be staying in Lincoln City / Depoe Bay area the first week of Aug and would love to explore some rivers depending on the drive.

 

Not high numbers but nice fish today!

 

I was up in Maine last week and got a lot of fishing in. Mixed up between fly rods and traditional spinning rods with soft plastics. The small mouth we’re eating up the clouser minnows like crazy on Saturday! Here’s a couple fish from the week.

 

2 out of 5 for the Arizona Wild Trout Challenge. Not big but 100% wild.

 

Looking for info on the latest bite along the Eastern Sierra, Upper Owens, Mammoth Lakes region.
Spending 5 days up there soon.

It's the price of entry...... The smiles per dollar spent on the license are completely worth it.
