I would like to make a shadow box with classic flys and even jigs to hang in my living room by my fish tank.

Some of this Some of that
My stepdad unearthed an old fishing box of his dads with some really nice old flies in them. A lot in the original packaging, all hand tied from around 1900-1930. Im trying to find out more about them. Apparently some have feathers from an extinct bird in them or something??

Had an excellent camping/fishing trip in central WY last week. I caught 16 fish is 2 days, 12 browns 4 bows. One brown was a thick 18in fully colored out and a 19in rainbow in full spawn and also very thick.

Buddy caught 6 bows over 20, one was a 24in badass spawner, damn thing looked like a steelhead.

These were all caught on nymphs, olive scuds #16 were working the best.

Of course, I cannot tell anyone where I was, cause it is against my nature. But if your really into fly fishing, you should know this spot by now. It is a section of river.

Flows are low, and perfect for wading. No ice either. Temps were around 45-50 during the day, and from 20-30F at night. Rainbows were just starting their run, will be in full swing mid March.

    Windy as hell of course:cool:

We were using a 3 fly system with different ranges of tippets. Fish were deep so we put small split shot throughout the setup to get it down. A thingamabobber was used as the indicator, and was placed 10-12 feet above the bottom fly. Caught most of the fish on #16 olive scuds.

This setup was also a real pain in the ass to cast in the wind, but worked.

    Some wildlife.

The G3s are so comfortable! We hit Crab for about 3 hours Sunday, not an epic day but fish were caught. 39 Degrees...no ticks or rattlers yet!

Fly fishing off and on since I was a kid (about 35 yrs) Just got heavy into trout about 15 yrs ago. Had a Sage 6wt (ex wife took it), a custom 5wt built by Cotton Cordell (the man not the company) that I loved but I left it in the case with a fly still on it and broke the tip at the second guide yanking it out of the case. Lifetime warranty on the rod but unfortunately, the rod outlasted Mr. Cordell. Now I'm using a TFO 5wt (love it). Gonna get a TFO 3wt after the Kayaks.

Fish the White River in the Ozarks at least a couple times a year.
