I'll be tying that for sure. And. If I was floating for 5 days, it would be a lot more than some beer!

You might already know this, but it's not the same as it used to be a few years ago. They now have a minimum water flow, which is quite a bit more water when 0 generators are running than it used to be. It's still wadable, but you won't be walking across like you used to could when 0 units were online. It is supposed to be better for the fish (more oxygen) so I guess in the long run its better.

We just got back a few weeks ago and absolutely tore them up on wooly boogs and egg patterns in the fast water.

We need to get the world record back up there!!

yea, I knew they established a minimum flow. I'm takin the waders, but I dont know how much wading we'll end up doing. We have a boat rented for all 3 days we'll be out there. I'm hopin the water isn't REALLY high while we're out there. This is actually my first trip.

Biggest one I caught today, on a #22 midge dry fly. First time I have thrown a dry all year, but he kept rising when temps got into the mid 40's, which is really warm right now. I switched over my nymphing set up to a dry and got him about 10th cast. It was very sweet:cool:

Caught 9 cutthroat ranging 15-18in, and lots of whitefish from 12-14in. Most were caught on #18-20 midge larva.

    The Snake around Jackson Wy.

Absolutely crushed them on streamers today in a new secret zone. Caught around 20 cutthroats, all 15-17in. All on streamers. They were all healthy beautiful trout! Here's a pic of the 17incher, had a 22ish inch cutthroat trailing my streamer as well....

Awesome, I plan to hit the Snake this summer and do some floating around the 4th of July if the water level is down enough by then. Last time I was up there was in 2011 and it was still a raging mess of chocolate in July. I couldn't tell from your first pic if it was a Snake or a CO cutt, but the second one is easier to identify, beautiful fish.

Summer floats are productive for 10-16in cutthroat on average, with the occasional big boy, yet this time of year is when you consistently catch the bigger cutthroats. All the cuttys that are of breeding age which usually begins at 2-3yrs old, retreat to the smaller tributaries that feed into the Snake starting when runoff begins, usually April. If you know where to fish these little creeks, you can pull out 19-22in+ trout in very small water. Hopper patterns in late summer are loads of fun in these little creeks!!!

I'm looking forward to catching some Browns soon, I'm addicted to catching monster browns:cool:

Next year I will be able to cross a trip off my fly fishing bucket list. Only 16 more months before I depart. 1 week Kamchatka wilderness float followed by a 1 week Zhupanova float. Only a teaser...unfortunately they have removed the full 42 minute video from youtube
