Seriously jelly! Isnt there a lottery or something like that to get access to there?

Edit - Topwater trout fishing is about as badass as it gets.

If you are directing that towards me...no lottery that I know of, perhaps if you are doing a self guided trip. My trips will be guided and I shelled out a little over 12k for the trip.

Yeah I looked into it after that and found several guides that are about the same cost. Looks like I was mistaken, the area was closed as a result of war (WWII and Cold War) until 1990, so it has been open for quite a while.

Thanks man...about to get the string stretched in a few minutes. The 5-6 lbs stripers are feeding in the creek mouths. Heading out on the water try and post pics later.

18in fat cutthroat I caught on a streamer today, was the best out of 4 fish altogether. Caught him out deep fast current and it put up a hell of a fight.

Dude, I would LOVE to meet up and do some fly-fishing with you. And when you say "next break", you're talking about this summer, correct? I haven't fished around the Casper area, but I fish the Platte and Laramie around this area quite a bit in the summers.

And as for the original post; Sage Flight 690 series, Ross Reels Cimarron 3 reel. I fish probably 90% Nymphs, mostly on the North Fork of the Shoshone by Cody, or the North Platte here by Laramie. Used to tie my own but I just don't have the time lately.

Sage is by far my favorite rod company. Someone knocked my rod over and stepped on it in the parking lot, I thought it was fine, one set-hook on a fish and "SNAP", lower piece snapped in half. Called them up, they had a new half in the mail before the customer service rep and I were done talking on the phone, no charge. And they also mailed it to me in a FREE aluminum hard-side rod case. Holy cow! A+ for them.

Absolutely. And I'm off the rest of this week after Wednesday if you want to meet up. I'd be willing to drive up to casper if you have some good areas. How's the weather up there? It's been windy as all hell here...

The poppers I tied were originally designed for snook! Give me a little heads up before the next tournament and I'll send you a half dozen or so!

My buddy's birthday was this weekend and we've been itching to get into some wild trout. We were fishing a tiny trib that fed into a major stocker/bait chucker river, but this stream is managed as a wild trout stream. We went dry fly or die and caught more than we could count. They are very small compared to the giants you guys are posting from out west, but this is southern Appalachia at its finest!

We finished up the birthday weekend by doing a little bucketmouth fishing on his pond. I caught this on one of my poppers, top water in March is hard to beat.

Here is one my buddy and I spotted rising in a spring creek next to the trail we were wheeling last year. Got out and threw a size 20-22 gnat imitation. He took it on my second cast. Definitely not a pig but real nice coloring. Pretty sweet to sight fish from the Tacoma and then get him in and back in the river in under 5 min.

Correct on both accounts, this time of year is tits on both NP sections. The reef will be dirty down by town, I would stay at least above govt bridge, but best right below the dam. Fremont canyon is also great. I fish up there all the time, we should try to meet up at some point.

Awesome fish, is that down by Reno or up closer to Truckee?

From the background it looks like its east of Reno but I'll let Chris verify.

Undisclosed location in Wyoming....Spring is here, remarkable how warm it has been!! Snow has been gone in this spot for about a month, hiked some fresh powder turns this AM in Jackson though. Rip some lips.
