Might I ask why the screw cap end pieces rather than solid end caps?

I use these in my Yakima double haul. They work fantastic.

You should also run reel covers if you don't have dividers. Will keep your reels from banging together.

This is for future expansion if I have a setup where I can use my rods at full length. I don't think I will at the moment, but if I end up doing so, it will be able to accept another 5ft extension.

I dont have a photo, but I cut some foam pieces to place under the reels on the bottom and between each reel. I left these pieces loose and chose not to glue them in so that way I can clean out the box if necessary, (or if water ends up getting inside, I can remove and dry it out). I do like those rod sleeves though and have a few of them from my bass rods. I'll give this a try.
The rod straps are sweet. Keeps the two rods together nice and tight and adds cousin to the pvc from the guides.

Version 3 with a new designed bracket for the box and tubes. This bracket allowed for four bolts to tighten to the box with silicone sandwiched between. The box seems to not twist like it did previously.

Cutting off the existing brackets, took about 3” off the overall length. This caused the carrier to be too short for the bed rack. My solution was a little metal strip to extend into the pipe and sit under the u-bolt and bolt to the bed rack. Seems pretty sturdy.

Looks like your new bracket was inspired by the Olympic rings. Nice job!
