    Remember 2 things:

    1. Insurance companies will always try to find the way that cheapest

    2. Insurance is set up to get you back to where you were before the loss. Nothing more or less. This is something to use to your advantage. You could tell the company to go ahead and buff it out and see, but if there are any marks or any scratches still, then they have to paint it. Or that they shld do it the right way the first time and paint it. OR, you could live with the scratches/scrapes and say you'll take the money and use it for NEW PARTS!!!!! haha

Problem is the dents on my cab would more than likely take up most the $2600 he quoted me after fixing it and painting it. The cost of buffing it all was only like $400. Also there was a small ding in my bumper and he just want to buff it then bondo over it and not replace the bumper. Don't get me wrong it was very minor.

He didn't even cut me a check for the quote he gave me. He just told me to bring it back when I was ready to get the repairs done??

I'd go to a good/referred body shop and be SURE he knows you are going to be real fussy with the paint scratches/damage repairs. He should want to get the job done right the first time and not screw around with buffing damage, touch up spots, your issues, etc.
My last shop / repair refused to do the work unless the insurance company was willing to pay for it twice... (once to do it their way, and once to do it right if it came out screwed up ...)

Good Luck and keep us posted .

I would be absolutely pissed if they even suggested bondo..F**K tht shit!! If I were in tht situation, I would go to another shop and get a quote for them to fix the big dent. I would do the wax/buff on my own and get out as much as possible and take the rest of the money

The big dent in the cab how would they do that. The small ding in the bumper should I have them replace the entire bumper or try too at least? I already told him I hated bondo and that they should just replace the bumper and my Geico rep was like that's not going to happen?

Didn't you say you wanted to get plate bumpers? I'd just leave the dent, take the money for it, and move on...as far as the big dent, I have no clue..someone else will have to answer that one lol

Geico has their own estimators?? The shop gave me one then the rep gave me his? I did mention a plate bumper but the cost to repair the small ding is nothing, so that wouldn't help out much

And this is why I'm with Nationwide haha wanna switch?? JK This is getting a little out of my range..I would think that they need to pay for the damage done to your vehicle so that it sets you back to how your truck was before the damage..so thats wht I would demand

Well went to two body shops and they both said that Geico will start with trying to buff it and that I could go to all of Pensacolas body shops and get an estimate that it wouldn't matter because that's how Geico is here. He did say he could possibly talk them into just ordering a new bumper because by the time he took the paint off knocked the ding out and repainted it that it would cost the same. He suggested waiting till his insurance says they want cover any of it because if they do decide to cover all the costs I can push them to do what I want too being it isn't my insurance. If its mine and I file the claim then I have really no say so on where they begin per two body shops. I guess I will be calling his insurance and wait to hear from them?? UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH:mad:

Oh and he also said I can't recoup diminished value if I file the claim. I am def waiting to hear from his insurance.

lol well part of my problem was i needed a new frame and since toyota is doing this minor frame recall right now, I was put on the waiting list for a frame...You shld be ok once the other insurance company makes a decision..I'd say, depending on the shop, Your looking at a week or two max for repairs..and you shld get a rental car to fool around with during tht time!! lol

    From his insurance company lol!!!

    Mr. Creel:

As I told you during our first conference, the incident involving the trampoline in Mr. Chicco's yard being blown across the street and onto your truck is a General Liability claim and it is not a matter that will be automatically paid under his Homeowners policy.

We have submitted a detailed report and the adjuster handling this claim, Linda Coto, has the file on her desk for a decision today. Mr. Chicco has no control over the decision nor do I make that decision. This type of situation is faily common along the coast and is generally considered an "act of nature" over which Mr. Chicco has no control and he has no control over the decision which will be made by his Homeowners insurance carrier.

As I recommended previously, you should turn this matter over to GEICO under your comprehensive coverage to get your truck repaired immediately. I feel sure that GEICO will then "subrogate" or ask for reimbursement from Federated National if that company feels they have a basis for such a claim.

I would ask that you not make a "neighborhood issue" out of this situation as Mr. Chicco has no control over the final decision.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He should have been a man and done the right thing. Sucks for him now.

Well as far as wht his company has to say..they're stupid..He is liable for damage to your truck because you are supposed to have the trampoline tied down..end of disscussion..if they are not going to cover the claim..I would file a complaint with the Florida board of Insurance and with the attorney general

    http://www.myflorida.com/agency/40/

They I would make them choke on so much regulation that they would think twice about insuring your neighbor again lol...
Next I would refrain from turning it into your company and wait to hear from his company and I wouldn't stop bothering them either...all they want is for you to go away..DON'T GO AWAY lol

Wht I meant by that was that by filing a complaint with department of insurnace, they will have some answering to do as to why they didn't allow a claim that was vaild...Its called "unfair claims practice" where they deny a claim for no good reason or the deny a claim that shld have been covered...Trust me, you shld at least get part if not all of it paid for from his company...he was liable for not tying down the trampoline when it even says to in the directions...lol this is making me mad seeing how another insurance company is trying to take advantage of one of my TW brothers lol
