Ok i have a question regarding the dowel pins on my flywheel. Long story short.
Do i need all the pins to have it balanced because its spins fast right? Well the guys at my nearest metal shop couldn't get one removed so they said its ok to run it with 2 heck he said you dont even need them. So does the flywheel not spin that fast to make a difference. Its kinda too late since i now have two instead of 3. Im just trying to stay one step ahead of these little surprizes that i am finding along my path to tacoma enlightenment, or replacing my clutch, LOL i am now looking up how to remove front diff for oil pan removal to replace gasket sealant! Hahah is it always like this? What starts out as something "simple" as clutch replacement which leads to rear main seal replacement which sat on my oil pan gasket sealant so i removed part of it so have to replace sealant, cannot get pan out unless front diff is removed!!! Hahahahaha. When does it end? Will it end? I am having a hard time seeing the light at the end of tacoma nirvana.
    Hahhaa
also does the missing pin matter?
Thanks for listening. Any and all advice is welcome. 98 6cyl 4x4 3.4l extcab

Start leaving things out that belong there leads to trouble. Do it right. Don’t be like my meathead customer 40501927-AE63-4E5E-92B4-1ACCA8D8D6A9.jpg

    That is impressive !!

Then of course no one has any idea just how it happened .

OP What kind of machine shop gives up on getting a pin out ??

Will that shop back up the claim by paying all parts and labor if something fails ??

Only you can make the call what to do.

Any more new clutch gets a new flywheel .

Welcome to owning a Tacoma a 98 is going to take work to bring it up to speed.

Then the light at the end of the tunnel could be just the train coming at you fast.
