I broke off a flywheel bolt when I was tightening it down. Torqueing to 65 ft lbs. Per the specs. Not trusting my harbor freight torque wrench anymore. I was able to extract it with the help of a good vice wrench. Now I need a bolt. Ordered one from Parts Geek. They sent the wrong one. They won't take it back unless I pay the shipping. Never. Never order parts from Parts Geek.
The donor truck I have has a automatic, and a flex plate. The bolts are shorter. I thought about changing all of them, but that's not a good idea. Local parts stores are like "bring it in, we'll try to match it up". I don't like that idea either. Won't throwing an odd bolt in change the balance?
Without scowering on line salvage yards, what is a good source for one of these jobbers?
    Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions?

Get all new bolts from Toyota !!

Big difference between fly wheel and flex plate bolts get the correct ones.

If I remember the Fly Wheel bolts are longer from doing Auto to manual swaps.

Thanks OxDEADBEE! I am thinking i need to order this. I am concerned about the torque. here's the screen shot from the manual. That is what I based the 65lbs on.
Actually, I had them all torqued. i thought it wouldn't hurt to go over them again. Thats when i broke the bolt. Kicking myself in the butt for not just leaving it alone.

That is correct. Just a passing thought. Better to get the right bolt from Toyota.
What is the best on line Toyota parts source? No local dealer where I live. Closest is 50 miles. So i need the part shipped to my address. What is a good source?

    McGeorge seems to be popular

Find the part number and shop around. Look at shipping sometimes shipping charges will sneak it into a higher price. Probably not for bolts though.

Huh, that is weird - why is the 3rz different? Its almost the same engine.

    Almost????
I guess the real question is, what is the right torque spec for my engine?

Judging by the toyota webpage, the 3rz and the 2rz use different bolts, and the 2rz ones are just straight 65 ft lbs. Very interesting.

I have always thought mine was the 2RZ. I could be wrong. All the more reason to order from Toyota where they verify with the VIN. I think I need to order by phone, so i can ask for a verification of the torque specs too. The last thing i want is another broken bolt. I got lucky on the last one. There was enough stud to grab with my vice wrench. Or even worse, have it vibrate loose after everything is put back together.

The joys of sourcing parts for older Toyota`s when you have no clue just what might have changed since it was built.

I am glad I had such a good relationship with my local parts manager and service manger.

    5 lug = 2rz
    6 lug = 3rz

    Can't hurt to call though.

I tried to call McGeorge. They don't take orders by phone. Placed my order online. Mine is a 2rZ. So 65 ft. lbs. is correct.
All you guys here are really helpful. I appreciate it a bunch!

3rz to 2Rz bebuilt block and new heads
Ordered some stuff from mcgeorge couple months ago,
ordered wrong master rebuild kit, they sent me a text saying the part# I ordered and VIN did not match....
Held order until I got back to them.....

And it is possible to have a 3rz in a 5lug, mine did, its way easier to find a 4runner 3rz in junk yard than, almost anything......
tons of em rusting as we speak......

According to LCE this correct part

Bolt Washer Based H 90105-10276 | McGeorge Toyota Parts

2RZ/3RZ/2TR OEM Flexplate Bolt Kit (Each) (lceperformance.com)

looks to be same bolt on all the 4 cylinder flexplate autos thru the gen2's VVT....
I would torque it to the lce # of 54#'s.....

I buy everything from Mcgeorge. Ive compared prices with toyotapartsdeal.com Mcgeorge is always cheaper and they email you if the part doesnt match the VIN. Saved me a couple times.

I just bought OEM 10 flywheel bolts last week (new clutch and rebuilt tranny going in this week). Bolts are longer with thread locker pre-applied.

I like the fact that McGeorge check the vehicle VIN#. This gives me assurance that I am getting the right part for my vehicle.
I had planed to use blue lock tight.

All Toyotas don’t do that? Thought thats was how get your warranty or get to void restocking fee something like that.
